Organizers of Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing (NATH) stated they have often heard the question, Why do we need a homeless shelter? We have been hearing this comment less often since we began the campaign to establish a shelter in the North Woods, but that doesnt mean it wasnt, and isnt, a legitimate question, said Frederick Place homeless shelter Executive Director Tammy Modic. According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the terms homeless or homeless person include individuals who lack a fixed regular and adequate nighttime residence. Inadequate nighttime residences include using a public or private place not designed for, or ordinarily used as, a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings. In the case of urban homelessness, it is easy to see how sleeping in doorways, churches

or even dumpsters fits this definition. For rural homelessness, this can include people who are sleeping in campers or tents in campgrounds in the summer, in their cars parked in friends driveways, doubling up with other families, or couch-surfing between friends and relatives homes. According to HUD, this often means homelessness in rural areas is more difficult to see. Another difference between obvious urban and the hidden rural homelessness is the underlying factors that lead to the condition. HUD representatives explained that while urban areas struggle with persistent, chronic homelessness related to substance abuse and untreated mental health conditions, rural homelessness is often more short term and situational. Childrens museum to kick off holidays

The Northwoods Childrens Museum will hold its annual Turkey and Traditions Days Friday, Nov. 25, and Saturday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will feature holiday workshops, Tom the visiting turkey and a storewide sale. The turkey is a Heritage turkey and is owned by the museums program coordinator, Margie Rychlock. Heritage turkeys are slower to grow, only reaching about 12 to 15 pounds at maturity, Rychlock stated. Workshops will be held at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. both days in the museums art center and will include holiday crafts that children and adults can make and take home to give as gifts or display as decorations. These crafts will include a traditional four-pine wreath. The cost to make a wreath is $25, but those taking wreath forms they have used in previous years will be able to make a wreath for $15. These are fun days for the museum and we see it as a kickoff to the holiday season, said Executive Director Rouleen Gartner. We look forward to having our visitors enjoy all that we have to offer. Honda and Kohler donate engines to Northland Pines technology program

Northland Pines High School technology and engineering instructor David Justice recently went to Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) in Appleton for small-engine instructor training. For attending this class, Kohler Co. donated 24 new Courage XT-7 verticalcrankshaft small engines, and American Honda Motor Co. Inc. donated one new GVC 160 overhead camshaft vertical-crankshaft engine. The donated engines have a retail value of at least $5,000. According to Justice, over the last 10 years, students have had to take old engines from home to clean, disassemble, measure and reassemble. Many older engines were not able to be restarted due to broken and/or missing parts. Also, many older engines do not have the same technology as todays modern engine design. Older engines do not have the new overhead valve (OHV) system. Having one engine design will allow students to fully understand how an OHV engine operates and is constructed. They will learn how to measure and set the space between the pushrods and rocker arms in the cylinder head, said Justice. The students will be

We acknowledge our blessings

IT IS A big week in our country. A time when most stop to say thank you for all they have. I especially like Thanksgiving because it is not for sale in the stores. We dont really see a lot of materialism around Thanksgiving. Greeting cards and turkeys abound, but frankly it is a low-key consumer holiday as well as a day to acknowledge all we have. Families and friends will gather around tables laden with comfort foods. Football will be a major focus for many. And people will actually eat together and most will even pause to say a prayer of gratitude. We tend to pull away from the problems in our lives and in our world on a holiday like this. But for some, that is impossible as pain sits in the back of their hearts and minds as those around them celebrate. They are the people who are sad, lonely or grieving a loss. Others are frightened if unemployed or dealing with a life-threatening illness. Life is not simple. Everyone has a story and none of us really knows what a stranger is dealing with. We are so quick to judge and so shamed when we have made a crass judgment only to learn that the person we were so harsh with is struggling with life in some way. At my weekend retreat in early November, one of the meditations we did several times was the LovingKindness Meditation. Instead of focusing on the breath during this time, we focused on the desire that we and others are safe, healthy, happy and live with ease. The leader reminded us to express that desire for those who are troublesome in our lives, those who have taught us something, for strangers as well as loved ones and all beings on the planet. Churches plan live nativity

Christ Lutheran Church in Eagle River and St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Phelps will host the ninth annual live nativity Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3. The grounds of Christ Lutheran School will be decorated to resemble the town of Bethlehem as Christs birth is re-enacted with music and Bible narration. Congregation members, along with live farm animals, will depict the scene at the stable in Bethlehem. Outdoor presentations will run every 20 minutes from 6 to 8 p.m. The last performance both evenings will be at 7:40 p.m. After viewing the 15minute presentation, visitors will be able to walk through the Bethlehem market. Free refreshments will be available. We invite you to celebrate the first Christmas with us by taking 20 minutes during this busy time of year to reflect on the birth of our Savior, said the Rev. Philip Gieschen. We hope this event will remind everyone of the true source of Christmas joy. The performance will be free of charge and open to the public.

Homeless: Oneida among top 10 in state

cate that 15% of the homeless population in Wisconsin are families, and that percentage is increasing as the economic situation worsens. HUD added that Oneida County is among the top 10 counties scattered across the state with the fastest growth in the number of homeless families. Homelessness can result from the loss of a job leading to an eviction, from the breakup of a family or relationship, or as the result of domestic abuse. According to HUD calculations, Fair Market Rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Oneida County is $650. That means a worker would need to earn $11.63 per hour at a fulltime job to afford Fair Market Rent for a two-bedroom apartment to be considered affordable. Moreover, a living wage for one adult with one child is calculated to be $14.68 per hour for full-time work to cover basic living expenses in Oneida County nearly double the Wisconsin state and federal minimum wage of $7.25. For a family of two adults with two children, the total income per hour jumps to $23.82 ($9.32 more than two minimum-wage earners would make per hour). Numbers are very similar for Vilas, Forest, Lincoln and Langlade counties. NATH organizers noted that finding employment that pays a living wage is particularly challenging in the North Woods, where a large portion (56%) of employment opportunities are in seasonal, retail, service or transportation industries the sectors most likely to offer wages below a living wage and few, if any, benefits. While these industries require little in the way of training or skills, they also offer few opportunities for professional advancement. Between 2007 and 2011, the need for food assistance has jumped across the United States. In Oneida County alone, there was a 200% increase in ongoing FoodShare (formerly known as Food Stamp) caseloads. The monthly average cost of the program has jumped 300%. NATH representatives noted that in addition to the sudden increase in the number of students eligible for free and reduced school lunch, area school districts reported nearly 200 homeless students during the 2008-09 school year a 60% increase from the 200607 school year. At the end of 2011, federal programs that support emergency funding for rent assistance and rehousing in the North Woods are out of funds, leaving individuals and families on long waiting lists for other forms of support, according to NATH. Since Frederick Place opened its doors Jan. 31, 2011, it has housed 80 residents, but turned away 119 individuals more than half (79) because the shelter was already full, and the remainder because the individuals couldnt meet the shelters criteria for zero tolerance for substance use, recent history of a violent crime, or being listed on the sex offender registry.

WTC donations still urgently needed

Donations to Warm The Children, a program sponsored by the Vilas County News-Review to provide winter clothing for needy children, have now reached approximately $30,141, according to News-Review Publisher Kurt Krueger. We urgently need to collect $19,859 in donations in order to reach our fundraising goal of $50,000. All administrative fees are paid by the NewsReview. Every donation, no matter how large or small, is deeply appreciated, commented program coordinator Sharina Adams. It is my hope that as people start preparing for the upcoming holiday season, they will keep this wonderful program in mind. This past week, anonymous donations totaled $1,185. Resurrection of a bug

The Volkswagen Bug was the top-selling foreign-made car in the United States during the 1960s, a time of unrest and riots spanning the Vietnam War and the generation gap. It may have been its compact size, unusual shape and fuel economy among other gas-guzzling vehicles which drew people to purchase the Bug. Today, some owners are customizing those old Beetles. Ron Hettwer is owner and designer of BGW Spectre Limited, a madeto-order plastiglass manufacturing company in Phelps. He primarily manufactures parts for Volkswagens and 1970-81 Camaros and Firebirds. His company offers hoods, fenders, engine covers and other specialty items and provides hot rod conversions for convertible, trucks and other models. Education in engineering, architecture, physics and applied math afford Hettwer expertise in his field, while an industrious family background and service in the Marines provides discipline. Every one of our products is hand crafted. Most prototypes are made from plywood. Then I take it apart, cast it and make it out of plastic, said Hettwer. The process uses a combination of hardened resin with a fiberglass substructure which yields plastiglass as a laminate. There are very few companies like ours in the nation. We dont restore

vehicles back to their original form. If you want to customize the car and make it look like you want, we do that, he added. For example, we can change the body style from a steel-top sedan to a convertible. By changing the body style, the owner can even put bigger wheels underneath, Hettwer stated. Cars can be tricked out. For example, you can hide the antenna for the radio in the running board rather than sticking up on the car. We place arrows which are ghosted on the front bonnets. You dont see them at first but when you come closer, the arrows become white pearl, he explained. Hettwers customized cars are all over the world from Canada to Australia and from Tennessee to California. Three years ago, a man from Texas won the International Car Show with customization from BGW Spectre. Members of the singing group, The Association, own two of his customized vehicles. Closer to home, two of his personal cars were displayed at the Three Lakes Car Show this summer. Hettwer surrounds himself with beautiful things. I love my beautiful wife, Gods Eyes, Indian designs, fox pelts, boats and cars. Im lucky. When one designs and manufactures something, theres a little bit of God involved. I take pride in that! he exclaimed.

Six Eagle River businesses have joined together to offer a day for shopping and fundraising Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The businesses include Eagle River Roasters, Grandmas Toy Box, Pink Coyote Indian Art & Jewelry, Riverstone Restaurant & Tavern, Salon & Spa on Railroad Street, and WalkAbout Paddle & Apparel. Nicolet announces holiday events

Nicolet Area Technical College has announced two upcoming events to be held at the Nicolet College Theatre, located on the colleges Rhinelander campus. Benefit for Sislo planned Dec. 3

A benefit for Mark Sislo of St. Germain will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the St. Germain Community Center. The benefit will raise funds to offer assistance to Sislo and his family as a result of his battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Tri-County Council to sell childrens items at gift closet

The Tri-County Council on Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault will open a Christmas Gift Closet at its Minocqua location at 327 E. Milwaukee St. The Christmas Gift Closet will have new toys, games and more, with nothing priced more than $5. The purpose of the closet is to use the donations the organization has received to raise money for the purchase of items that are suited to the ages of individuals it is serving. The Tri-County Council is currently overstocked with items for young children. Children will be able to choose one free toy for a brother or sister. Hours of operation will be Saturday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and every Friday and Saturday in December through Dec. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Tri-County Council. Soup fundraiser set Nov. 29

White Spruce Inn will host a fundraiser called Soup for a Cause Tuesday, Nov. 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 419 N. Railroad St. in Eagle River. All proceeds raised during the event will be donated to Tri-County Council on Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault. Participants will have the option of trying many different soups and desserts. The cost for adults is $10, children ages 4 to 11 years old will cost $5, and children age 3 and younger will eat free. In addition to the food, there also will be raffles and a chance to meet Santa. The Green Bay Packers donated a football signed by the 2010 team. Tickets for this and all raffle items will be available only at White Spruce Inn during the event hours. Gentle Healing welcomes new member to its staff

Gentle Healing Acupuncture and Natural Medicine S.C. in Eagle River recently welcomed Kristine Cloutier, MSOM, L.Ac., to its staff. Cloutier earned her Master of Science Degree in Oriental medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colo., where she trained in both acupuncture and Chinese herbalism. She completed an apprenticeship in sports medicine and pain management in Boulder. In addition to treating general and chronic health conditions, she has specialized training in womens health. Cloutier is certified by the National Certification commission for acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and is licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of Wisconsin.

The Scarlet OHatters of the Northwoods announced its annual Potluck Christmas Party will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall, located on Highway 70 West in Eagle River. Hospital auxiliary announces 2012 officers

Auxiliary-Partners of Eagle River Memorial Hospital installed its 2012 officers Nov. 15 during a ceremony in the lower level of the Medical Arts building across from the hospital. Officers include Ginger Gullen, co-treasurer; Peggy Kalt, co-president-elect; Mary Lincoln, co-treasurer; Ruth Janz, corresponding secretary; Peggie Lambert, president; Diana Sell, co-presidentelect; and Marie Vladic, recording secretary. A board meeting will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 10:30 a.m. in the Medical Arts building. The auxiliary Christmas party will be Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Michaels Italian Restaurant and Bar, located at 1298 E. Dollar Lake Road in Eagle River. A social hour will begin at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. For reservations, contact Anita Dahl at (715) 479-2925. The auxiliarys thrift shop, located on Pine Street in Eagle River, will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 24, to Monday, Jan. 2.

AARP program volunteers sought

The AARP Tax-Aide/Tax Counseling for the Elderly Program is now seeking one or two additional volunteers to join its core group of counselors. Tax-Aide is a free community service program offered by AARP working in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). People who volunteer to serve as counselors should be willing to work with computers, participate in a three-day training course sponsored by the IRS and the Wisconsin Department of Revenue and should also be willing to devote about seven hours a week for tax preparation work. Volunteers will work at the Kalmar Community Senior Center in Eagle River during February, March and the first half of April. Scheduling will be flexible and accommodations can be made to fit individual schedules. Volunteers will work with other experienced counselors. Health department offers influenza prevention advice

The Oneida County Health Department has begun vaccinating people against influenza at the department, located in Rhinelander. Symptoms of influenza illness include fever, headache, nonproductive cough, sore throat and runny nose. Other complications could include pneumonia, ear infections or sinus infections. The department noted that people who have underlying medical conditions are at greater risk to these complications. Flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May. According to the health department, each year the flu vaccine changes based on surveillance and scientists estimations about which type and strain will circulate. About two weeks after vaccination, antibodies provide protection against influenza. The department recommends that anyone who wants to reduce their chances of getting the flu should get vaccinated. Those people may include children ages 6 months to 18 years, pregnant women, people 50 years and older, anyone with chronic medical conditions, and people who live in nursing homes. Advice from the department on the best way to protect from getting the flu is to practice good hygiene, get a flu shot each year, stay home when sick and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The flu shot is $25. The Oneida County Health Department will bill Medicare, Medicaid and some Medicare replacements (card must be presented at time of service). Cash and check also will be accepted. The second annual Fall Square Dance Nite will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, at State Line Restaurant in downtown Land O Lakes. Life Line Screening will hold health screenings Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the St. Germain Community Center, located at 545 Highway 155 in St. Germain. Bridge club makes annual donation

The Eagle River Duplicate Bridge Club recently made a donation in the amount of $594 to Warm The Children. The players each donate $1 to the fund each week throughout the year. Electors approve $757,415 levy to support $1.26 million budget

Town of St. Germain electors approved a town tax levy of $757,415 for 2011, to be collected in 2012, by a paper ballot vote of 53 voting yes and 45 voting no at the annual budget meeting last Tuesday night. The vote followed a contentious budget hearing at which electors voiced their concerns about the townowned golf course, the towns indebtedness, the future of the Red Brick Schoolhouse and the need to bring new business and development to the town. The tax levy will support a $1.26 million budget, down 6.35% from last years budget of $1.34 million. The levy will be 8.21% over last years tax levy, which was $700,000. Town Chairman Walt Camp and Town Clerk Tom Martens directed electors to a page attached to the proposed budget on which the current loan structure, a new loan structure and new revenues were outlined. Martens explained that the loans had been restructured and that the current plan includes $105,322 for a debt reserve fund. The plan allows the tax levy for debt to be kept level at about $470,000 for the next five years, including the balloon payment for an M&I Bank loan and the increase in a Baird loan. By following the plan, the town could be debt free by 2016, according to Martens. When asked why the town has a debt of approximately $3 million, Camp explained that the debt goes back as far as the 1998 bonding obligation for the town golf course and, more recently, a new fire truck. Several electors complained about recent problems with the golf course income being down due to weather damage to the greens and the poor economy. Other electors

defended the value of the golf course to the town and pointed out that the seasonal fees of $500 for a single membership and $675 for a couple were the lowest of any course in the area. Although the future of the Red Brick Schoolhouse was not being considered as part of the budget, several electors were aware of a recently completed report by Hunter Engineering which concluded that the 1965 addition would not be effective to remodel, but that the 1941 original building was sound and could be remodeled. Resident Loren Anderson spoke at length on the necessity of bringing new business into the town and urging construction of more condominium developments to support the tax base. He also urged that the red brick buildings be demolished as soon as possible. But resident Cora Mollen disagreed with the idea of more condominium development on the lakes and referred to the Community Planning Survey of 1997 which concluded that what people liked most about St. Germain was the small-town North Woods atmosphere of peace, quiet and natural surroundings. Anderson replied that, with the way the economy is now, any plans adopted 20 years ago should be thrown out. Several electors questioned why the golf course budget was separate from the town budget. Camp explained that it had been set up that way since the beginning of the course, but he agreed that the current town board is taking more oversight of the golf course operation and budget. Former Town Chairman Brian Sherren asked that the golf course budget be presented at the same time as the town budget. Phil Monday pointed out that the St. Germain Fire Department also has its own budget, while Jim Lenz suggested that more

money be spent on maintaining the golf course and called it the jewel of the North. November meeting The special elector meeting was concluded shortly after 7 p.m. after which the town board held its November town board meeting. Fire Chief Tim Clark reported 13 responses in October, of which 10 were medical, one fire, one rescue and one auto accident. He also recommended that a movable warming shelter be constructed at the ice rink so that families have a place to sit down and get their skates on and off. He said he has volunteers to construct the shelter. Bike Committee Chairman Mark Hiller reported that the bike and hike trail was officially completed and that accounts were being reconciled for final payments. A kiosk with trail directions is being installed at the entrance to the trail at the parking area adjacent to South Bay Road. Camp reminded the board that the town policy for plowing snow on town roads required a snowfall of 3 inches on a weekday and 4 inches on a weekend. It was suggested that the density of the snowfall also should be considered in making the decision. Supervisor John Vojta also added that plowing should be done as soon as possible before early morning traffic starts. A citizen member asked if the town boards regular meeting could be moved to 7 p.m. to enable more working citizens to attend. Camp polled the board and members responded affirmatively. Several items were

deferred to the December meeting of the town board, including filling the golf course pro position, a resolution on the Landfill Venture Group, and any further decisions on demolishing or remodeling sections of the Red Brick Schoolhouse. The board adjourned into closed session to work on the employee handbook. The next regular meeting of the town board will be held Monday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. at the community center.

Church plans Christmas tea

Three Lakes Evangelical Free Church will host this years Womens Ecumenical Christmas Tea Monday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Reiter Center, located at 1858 S. Michigan St. in Three Lakes. Eighth-graders host third cake auction

Three Lakes eighthgraders are a step closer to a class trip to Washington, D.C., after hosting their third annual cake auction Nov. 4 at Three Lakes High School. A record number of cake donations and auction attendees, and professional auctioneering contributed to a fundraising total of $4,730 at the event, which boasted more than 100 home-baked items. Some of the goods included raspberry walnut torte, Death by Chocolate Cake, butter horn pastries and gourmet breads. Local casino packages and jewelry were also auctioned to contribute to the class trip fund. Col. Robert St. Louis donated his auctioneering talents for the evening, while students, parents, staff and the community gave items for the auction. The trip to Washington is scheduled for May 4-8, 2012. More fundraising events are planned to raise money for the trip.

Demmer plans used book sale

The Friends of Demmer Library will hold its monthly used book sale Saturday, Nov. 26, from 9 a.m. to noon in the lower level of the library. The holiday sale will feature bargains on selected romance novels, large print hardbacks and childrens books, which will be sold 10 for $1. Students attend vocal festival

Twenty-six general and vocal music students from Three Lakes and Sugar Camp recently participated in the Singing in Wisconsin vocal festival. The festival is unique to Wisconsin and took place at four sites around the state Nov. 12, including Appleton, Chippewa Falls, West Milwaukee and Wausau. The fifth- through 12thgrade students attended the festival at Wausau East High School, which featured four different choirs youth choir for grades five and six; young womens choir for grades seven, eight and nine; young mens choir for grades seven, eight and nine; and the high school choir for grades 10 to 12. Attending the festival from Sugar Camp School were Martin Hoger, Alex Lilligan, Alex Metzger and Nycholas White. Students from Three Lakes Elementary School attending included Gillian Bellman, Kayla Crump, Chloe Tatro, Ayla Fairchild, Gabriella DalPonte, Grace Menut, Savannah Edwards, Megan Clouse, Jessica Tillman, Eric Scheuer and Cara Swendson. Students attending from Three Lakes Junior High School included Makenna Kalata, Anna Kroll, Anavay White, Grace Hoger, Katelin Wilson, Ashlee Woods-Cirks, Thomas Edwards, Amanda Dessellier and Rachel Kane. High school students singing in the mixed choir were Megan Rheaume-Brand and Anya Fairchild. Singers learned four songs and rehearsed all day with a guest clinician. The students performed during a 4 p.m. concert in choirs of 25 to 85 singers. The singers were accompanied to Wausau by their director, Lisa Smetana. The event was sponsored by the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association.

Womens club schedules annual holiday breakfast

The Three Lakes Womens Club will hold its annual holiday breakfast Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 9:30 a.m. at the Reiter Center in Three Lakes. A performance by the Three Lakes High School choir will follow breakfast. Those interested in participating in an optional gift exchange can take a gift valued at $10. C) Approval of contract with MSA for administration of housing grant. D) Approval of contract with MSA for Silver Lake Road. Discussion of this project, narrowing the road, canceling the bike trail and putting a sidewalk on the east side. MSA will get a preliminary plan to us to approve. This was originally approved on August 15 by council. USDA is looking for projects and we have applied. We would only get a sewer grant, not water. 40 year loan at approximately 3% interest. Preliminary engineering and environmental review is a total of $7500. Prelim eng review will be on a special meeting. Motion by Burkett, 2nd by Meadows to authorize mayor, on recommendation from Joe Laux, city administrator, that we sign contract for Silver Lake Road. Carried on roll call vote. E) Approval of memorandum of understanding with Vilas County for statewide voter registration system (SVRS). Cost is $100. Motion by Hendricks, 2nd by Meadows to approve memo for state voter registration system. Carried on roll call vote. F) Approval of 2012-2013 poll workers. Burkett will abstain. Motion by Schaffer, 2nd by Hendricks to approve board of elections list as presented. Carried with Burkett abstaining. G) Approval of Resolution 830 amending flexible compensation plan for health savings account. Motion by Schaffer, 2nd by Burkett to adopt Resolution 830. Carried. H) Cancellation of Dempsey personal property tax bill. Motion by Hendricks, 2nd by Burkett to cancel Dempsey personal property tax bill. Carried on roll call vote. I) Approval of disposal of various items from city departments. Motion by Schaffer, 2nd by Meadows to approve the list of items to dispose of. Carried. J) Concealed carry. Discussion of whether we want to post city property. Chief is not recommending to post our buildings. Fish, game club seeks entries for photo contest

Land O Lakes Fish and Game Club is seeking entries for its annual photo contest for pictures taken within a 50mile radius of Land O Lakes. There are four categories: nature close-ups, wildlife, people and pets enjoying the North Woods, and North Woods scenery. Participants may submit entries in only two of the four categories. Only two photographs per category, per family, may be entered. Previous entries are not allowed. Photographs cannot be larger than 4 inches by 6 inches. Deadline for submitting photographs is Jan. 31, 2012. Photos should be submitted or mailed to Meyer & Associates Insurance Agency office, located at 4169 Highway B in Land O Lakes. All entries and winners will be presented during a slide show at the Valentines dinner, Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Gateway Lodge in Land O Lakes. The public is welcome to attend.
