When you install Network Printer Board-J1, a printer extended option for GP160 series, attention for installing Network Interface Device (NID for GP160 will be informed.
[History of System Versions] Service Bulletin Ver. No. Description NID for GP160 Installation

GP160-009
Details
When you install NID for GP160 in the TCP/IP network, it is necessary to set up an IP address using NetSpot. However, unlike other Network Interface Boards, as default values of Subnet mask are incorrect in case of NID for GP160, it is required to set up Subnet Mask correctly in addition to the IP address setup. This Service Bulletin will notify attention for installing NID for GP160 in the TCP/IP network, using Netspot.
(1) Connecting to the Network Interface Device For connecting to the Network Interface Device, you only need to attach the network cable to the Network Interface Device. (a) Be sure to power off the network printer before connecting to the Network Interface Device. (b) Prepare a twisted pair cable (10 Base-T cable) for connecting to the Network Interface Device. (c) Attach the network cable to the Network Interface Device. (d) You will notice three LEDs near the cable connection hole on the Network Interface Device. LED1 (DLED) Lights red at power on for a few seconds to perform a self test. This LED also lights RED when an error occurs. LED2 (GLINK) Lights when the Network Interface Device is connected to the network properly with 10 Base-T cable. LED3 (RX) Blinks when the Network Interface Device senses received packet data. (2) Configuring the Network Interface Board for TCP/IP When you install NID for GP160, it is necessary to use NetSpot(v3.0.3 or later) As for how to use NetSpot, please refer to Quick Start Guide and Online Help stored in NetSpot CD-ROM. Please see the typical means of the installation using NetSpot explained below. (a) Start NetSpot and enter a Mac address and an IP address.
Click [Continue] to show Device Configuration and set up IPX/SPX and TCP/IP.
-2/3-
GP160-009 (b) Click [Configure] and initialize NID for GP160. (c) As the device list of NetSpot indicates GP160 thereafter, double-click the [Setup] tab. (d) Select the [TCP/IP] tab, and set Subnet Mask, Gateway Address and so forth correctly.
(e) After the TCP/IP is set up, select [Test Print] of NID for GP160 and check that the network is set up correctly.

1. A printer control function has been added. 2. The time taken till CNG is output after calling is currently 250ms. As this is too short, the time has been extended to 750ms. 3. When IC-2200 attempts to send a scanned OCR document (A4) to a computer fax, an error is generated. The cause of the problem is that GP160 scans in inches and then sends the data in G3 transmission, with out performing inch/mm conversion, so the receiving side was unable to read the OCR sheet correctly. To correct this, an inch/mm conversion process function has been added. 1) When SSSW #1 SW05 bit 1 = 1, conversion is performed. When bit 1 = 0, conversion is not performed. 2) When SSSW #1 SW05 bit 2 = 0, conversion is performed only when the scanning is text mode. When bit 2 = 1, conversion is performed text, text/photo and photo modes. 3) When SSSW #1 SW14 bit 2 = 0, conversion is performed in the sub-scanning direction only. When bit 2 = 1, conversion is performed in both main and sub-scanning directions. 4) Based on the above conditions, the following settings will apply to all scanned images. When SSSW #1 SW14 bit 3 = 0, conversion will be performed. When bit 3 = 1, conversion will be performed only for OCR transmission. Note that, when OCR transmission is programmed in the one touch/speed dial settings (if not set, there will be no conversion).
-1/3-
GP160-010
Also, when SSSW #1 SW14 bit 4 = 1, bit 44, which recommends inch resolution, will be set (automatically) to 1 during DIS declaration. During DIS declaration, when an image is transmitted in fine or ultra-fine, if the above conversion is not to be performed, bit 44, which recommends inch resolution, will be set to 1. (automatically) 4. In the Australia setting, the Distinctive Ring feature is now enabled. 5. In the New Zealand setting, the R-key and S-Relay control default value have been set at close to 570ms and 260ms, respectively. 6. In the Spain setting, the copy function display [ZOOM AUTMAT] has been changed to [AUTO ZOOM], for consistency. 7. A defect in the on-hook remote mode has been corrected. 8. A loss of power sometimes causes dummy data to be left in the image memory. This has been corrected by the addition of a process to check the image data upon power on and remove any data files that do not have accompanying file management information. 9. Fine tuning of the printing density is now available in the service mode. #7 PRINTER #1 SSSW SW16 Adjustment value settings. (16 gradations can be set. 00000001 to 00010000) 1 (lightest) to 16 (darkest) 0/8 Default #7 PRINTER #1 SSSW SW01 bit 1 = 0 default value is selected. bit 1 = 1 selected adjustment value is selected.
