RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Name The name of the association is "KONDHWA WANAWADI MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS

ASSOCIATION".

The objects of the association are promotion and advancoo1ent of the me<i:al and allied sciences in

all their different branches, the improvement of public health and medical education, the
maintenance of the honor and upholding the dignity of the medical pIlllession and cooperation
between members thereof.

For the attainment and in furtherance of the above objects the association may:
a) Hold periodical meetings and conferences of the members of the association and of the
medical profession in general.
b) Arrange from time to time lectures on any aspect of the medical and allied sciences.
c) Assist in the publication of the association's newsletter.

d) Keep an office.
e) Organise medical camps for providing medical relief during epidemics and in time of
emergencies.
f) Purchase, take lease of, or otherwise acquire, hold, manage, let, sell, exchange, mortgage, or
otherwise dispose of movable or immovable properties of every description and all rights or
privileges necessary or convenient for the purpose of the association, and in particular, any
land, building, furniture, household or other effects, utensils, books, newspapers, periodicals,
instruments, fittings, appliances, apparatus, conveyance and accommodation and when
deemed necessary or desirable in the interesi of the association, set. let, hire out mortgage,
transfer or otherwise dispose of the same.
g) Erect maintain, improve or alter and keep in repair any buildings for the purpose of the
association.
h) Borrow or raise money in such manner as the association may think fit and collects
subscriptions and donations for the purpose of the association.
i) Invest any money of the association not immediately required for ~. of its objects in such a
manner as may from time to tine be determined by the association.
j) Assist, subscribe to, or co-operate or affiliate any other public body whether incorporated,
registered or not and having altogether or in part objects srnilar to thooe of the association.
k) Do all such other things as are cognate with the objects of the association or are incidental or
conductive to the attainment of the above objects.

3. Office The Office of the association shall be located in C1/18 Kubera Park, Kondhwa Road, Pune-40 till the
permanent office premises are fixed for the association.

4. Constitution The association shall consist of members whose names are on the Register of the association at the
time when these Rules come into operation and of subsequent members IMloshall be those persons
who, being eligible, shall be duly approved in such manner and upon such conditions as may be

a) Annual Members:
Persons possessing qualifications mentioned in Rule 6 and who pay yearly subscription.

b) Life-Members:
Persons possessing qualifications mentioned in Rule 6, who pay a IlIllp sum in lieu of yearly
subscription according to the rules of the as..~iation.

c) Associate Members:
Persons holding professional qualifications as in Rule6, but not pracocing in the area covered
by the association but living in this area can become associate members of the association by
paying the necessary subscription. Their membership should be accepted by the managing
cCiliinittee. These members will have all the privileges of the ordinary members of the .

Classification of d) Honorary Members:

Persons from the medical field having a high professional reputation can be elected honorary

c) General Rules about Subscriptions and Contributions:

All subscriptions and contributions are payable in advance on the 1st day of the

the application is made in the first half of the association year, or half year subscriptilll, if it is

meeting of the managing committee for admission of the applicant as a member and the
resolution of the committee shall be communicated to him or her. Meanwhile he or she shall
be admitted as a member only provisionally.

b) Life Members:
A person who is an annual member, seeking enlistment as a life member shall pay ••• b'

procedure of election shall be the same as in the case of an annual member.

c) Associate Members:
Any person who is eligible to become an associate member will submit 8le prescribed

at the next meeting of the managing cornrnittee. On being approved by the managing
committee the new member will be duly informed and then hislher name entered in the
register of Members.

d) Honorary Members:
For election of honorary members Two members of the association shall recommend the
name of such person and the same will have to be approved by the managing ccmnittee
before being finally put up to the general body for approval.

19. General Meetings A Ordinary General Meeting:

a) These shall be held generally held once in a month. These can be coincided with the

b) No quorum will be required for these meetings.

8. Annual General Meeting:

a) The Annual General Meeting should be held in December to fulfil legal requirements of
getting the General Body's approval of the accounts for the previous year and to conduct
the elections for the office bearers and managing committee.

b) Notice of the AGM shall be sent to the members at least two weeks before the date fixed
for i~ giving the place, the date and the hour of the meting and the agenda of all the
business to be brought up before it

c) Quorum for the Annual General Meeting shall be Twenty.

d) In the absence of the quorum, the meeting will be adjourned and will be held 15 minutes
after the scheduled time on the same day when no quorum will be required. No notice will
be required for the adjourned meetings. The decisions taken at these meetings shall be
binding on all.

C. The business to be transacted at the annual general meeting shall be taken in the following
order:
a) Adoption of the annual report for the previous year.
b) Adoption of the audited statement of accounts of the association.
c) Any motion for any change in the order of business

The installation of the newly elected President and the team of Office Bearers will be held on a
suitable date in the month of January and the new tearn shall take charge of the office immediately.

No proposal for a change of rules shall be considered at any meeting of the general body
unless the proposed alteration has been circulated to the members and unless due notice
of it has been given in the agenda of the meeting of the general body.
Minutes of all meetings shall be correctly kept and shall be confirmed by the chairman of
the meeting.

21. Various sub-committees can be formed for the smooth functioning of the branch, one of the
managing committee member, preferably will be the chairman of each sub committee. The
chairman can take any number of persons for his help in the committee either from managing
committee or fi'om amongst the other members. Chainman shall prepare separate rules and
byelaws for smooth functioning of that activity and shall inform the present managing committee
regarding these rules and get them approved in the managing committee. Unless changed
otherwise the rules will remain bindino on subseauent sub-committee for the followino vears.

The above rules were approved and passed at the Annual General Body meeling of the Kondhwa Wanawadi Medical Practitioners
Association on 181hDecember 1999.
