With the holidays just around the corner, there are so many fun things to do around the house from decorating the Christmas tree to filing up Christmas stockings. Whilst you will busy preparing for the festive season with the parties and celebrations to come, in this issue we will be looking ahead to help you to find some ideas about health, fitness, learning and home improvement that might suit your New Years resolution. In every issue, we have something for the kids in our Kids Gallery and colouring page. In addition, you will also find out what they want this Christmas. AROUND TOWN
Do all Christmas wishes come true?
We certainly like to think so. However with our busy schedules to wrap things up this year leading up to the festive holidays, there never seems to be enough time to find out what the kids want for Christmas and what are the must get presents for this season. Although the choice of Christmas presents has grown more elaborate over the recent years, we still struggle each year to decide what to get our little ones in the ever expanding Christmas shopping list. So with a little help from some of the children in our neighbourhood, they will be telling you what are the coolest presents for this Christmas and whats on the top of their wish list!

The Running SchoolTM
What is The Running SchoolTM? It is a very simple concept
where we teach adults and children how to run efficiently, effectively and faster! First launched in April 2009 in Chiswick, London and its franchise in Bristol opened in August 2011; all 1st time joiners are asked, have you ever been taught how to run? 99% of runners say no as they believe that running is a natural progression on from walking. This is the reason that many runners sustain injuries whilst out running. Poor running technique causes imbalances throughout the body which will result in pain and reoccurring injuries.
All kids love to run, but sometimes running can be hazardous if no one has taught them how to run. If kids do not get the opportunity to be out and about training for near to 2-3 hours a day in games and sports, the lack of physical learning and development of coordination and motor control will result in the slowing down of motor skills development. The kids sessions are made to be fun as their biomechanics are assessed in the same way as an adult runner. Its aim is to get them running more effectively and faster. If a child cannot run correctly, it can often result in being put off by sport and fitness which may hinder their ability to reach their full physical potential. Through on-going coaching, motivation and individual Call us on 07833208953 to advertise http://redlandandcotham.webs.com
training programmes, Kids will enjoy their running more and get fitter and faster. The Running SchoolTM has worked with thousands of recreational and young athletes helping them to reach their potential and achieve their own personal goals.
Christma s is near ly upon us The next big ev ent on our calendars is C hristmas and the long hours of deliberating w hat we buy our lo ved ones begi ns. Do your loved ones love to ru n and compete in local sports competitions? Well then, a course at The Running Schoo TM l is a perfect gi ft for them. Th e course consist s of six one hou r sessions inclu ding techniqu e and strength work. Not on ly will your love d ones get fitt er and stronger but they will al so gain a vital sk ill, making th is Christmas pr esent for life.
Dynamic Movement Skills (DMS) is a training methodology that helps to refine and improve gross motor skills and pairs up perfectly with our programme. DMS provides the best system available to help develop movement, balance and coordination in children. This method of training has proven to be very successful in primary schools; increasing childrens attention levels and participation in classes.

HOME SAFETY
When you are planning your activities with your children for this Christmas holiday, do also remember to make sure your home environment is safe for your children as they will be spending a lot of time indoors. More than one million children under the age of 15 experience accidents in and around the home every year, for which they are taken to accident and emergency units. Many more are treated by GPs and by parents and carers.
The most at risk from home accidents are the 0-4 years age group
Many accidents that happen in and around the home can often be avoided. By identifying and understanding potential accident risks in the home, you can take some basic safety steps that will keep your children safe and give you peace of mind. Throughout each stage of your childrens growth and development, there are many areas you should be aware of in their personal safety. As children grow up, the risks associated with the home accidents change accordingly. The table in next page is a guide to help you be aware of the potential dangers to different age groups playing around the house: Call us on 07833208953 to advertise http://redlandandcotham.webs.com
