Complex percential restraint differential protection

The same as with the differential instantaneous protection, this protection also provides hard strap control function. Soft strap can control the on or off of the protection. This protection uses Three Segments Polyline Percentage Differential principle. The operating formula is as follows 1. When Ires < Ir1 IdId0 2. When Ir1<Ires < Ir2Id Id0Kres1 * ( Ires - Ir1) 3. When Ires >Ir2Id Id0 Kres1 (Ir2 - Ir1)Kres2 *Ires Ir2 If any of the above conditions is met, and harmonic does not retainpercentage differential protection operates. Operating currentId =I1+I2+I3+I4 Restraint currentIres = | |Id|-|I1|-|I2|-|I3|-|I4| | In the formulaI1, I2, I3, I4 are secondary current of side 1,2,3,4 CT of the transformer (the equivalent current according to transformer wiring method after correction). The current transformers of the two sides are wired in Y mode and points to transformer. The device can adjust the current amplitude and phases of the two sides by setting unbalance coefficient and wiring mode. Percentage differential protection can make sure when external short-circuit occurs; protection will not operate; while protection is high sensitive to internal fault.

Through control word, protection can choose whether to block through CT failure. Harmonic restraint: three-phase cross restraint is applied, when the following formula is met, protection will operate

Ih<KxbId
Ih 2nd order harmonic quantity of differential current Kxb secondary harmonic restraint coefficient, set according to the magnetizing inrush current when escaping no-load closing of the transformer.

2.3

Differential over-current alarm

Max{Ida,Idb,Idc}Iset Which Iset is the differential over-current setting, and it is settable, when differential exceeds the setting, the device will send off differential over-current alarm after 10s delay.

2.4

CT failure alarm and block function

When in normal operationthe sum of three phase current of each side is zero. When one phase CT failure occurs, the sum of three phase current is not zero. To distinguish from ground fault, the following should be judged: 1) Among three phase current, the minimum one is zero. 2) The maximum phase current is more than zero and less than CT failure block current. When detecting CT failure, block percentage differential protection according to on/off set by control words and delay sending alarm signal, and show the time of failure. CT failure detection function can be on/off according to control words. When differential instantaneous over-current protection operates, CT failure block protection will be off.

Body protection

Body protection of this device has body heavy gas, voltage regulation heavy gas and pressure releasethere is a standby non-electric quantityit corresponding operating terminals directly trip through the hardware of the device. High temperature protection, lost of cooling control power, body heavy gas, voltage regulation heavy gas, pressure release, body light gas, voltage regulation light gas and oil low signal are connected to the device through binary input. According to the device control word, the protection can be set, trip and send signal, in which, which, high temperaturehigh oil temperatureprotection and lost of cooling control power can set delay. Lost of cooling control power has long delay and short delay. Long delay corresponds to high temperature signal not presents, short delay corresponds to high temperature signal presents. Description depends on protection device, see device terminal diagram

NoteIn the standard configurations, the input circuit of binary input has the connection

to an external 220VDC control power supply. When no DC control power supply or control system is available on site, but a 110VDC control power supply is available, a 110VDC control power supply may be used for direct connection through local hardware adjustment, or the 24V power supply of the device may be used as the input power supply (when the input common terminal is +24V, terminal number: B14, Terminal B01 is kept float). However, this must be specified upon ordering. Phase Angle Ia1=. Ib1=. Ic1=. Ia2=. Ib2=. Ic2=. Ia3=. Ib3=. Ic3=.

GPS clock synchronization

The GPS clock synchronization signal is input as rs485 differential voltage, the device

is able to receive GPS clock minute synchronization (or second synchronization). If there is GPS signal, there will be wont. The principle of GPS clock synchronization: The second pulse or minute pulse act with the monitoring system, the time base with second precision is sent by monitoring system, when the GPS second differential signal arrives, the time base is unified and the milliseconds are cleared. Version Information In the main menu, after entering the [9. Version Info.] menu, the model, software version and date of the device will be displayed. : For a corresponding nonstandard model, the devices displayed model does not have to be changed and flashing on the bottom of cycle menu; otherwise

5. Check of protection function

5.1 Check of differential instantaneous over-current protection

Set differential instantaneous over-current protection to on. Hard strap function is off

(when its on, C15 differential protection strap should be connected). Add each side current and make the differential current more than the setting the differential instantaneous over-current protection will operate. According to output matrix the corresponding terminals should be connected. For example

5.2 Check of Complex percential percentage differential protection

Set percentage differential protection to on, only add phase A current to each side same angle do not add harmonic. Let differential current exceed percential differential minimum threshold, restraint current should be zero. When percentage differential operatesaccording to output matrixthe corresponding terminals should be connected.

For protection check under other conditions, please refer to the detailed description about percentage differential in device function of this manual. Concerning in this manual, add all sides current and satisfy percential differential curve and harmonics dont restrain.

5.3 Check of differential over-current alarm

Set differential over-current alarm to On, add current to every side and make the differential current exceed differential over-current setting, the device will report differential over-current alarm. Test corresponding terminals according to output matrix should be short. Differential instantaneous protection checking method should be referenced.

5.4 Lost of cooling control power

There are long and short delay for lost of cooling control power, when lost of cooling control power signal exists, together with oil high temperature signal, the device will output after short delay; when lost of cooling control power signal exists, no oil high temperature signal exists, the device will output after long delay. Wire according to the following Fig, set lost of cooling control power to On.
