Tata Nano is an awesome car. It is beautifully designed to catch ones attention. As you get into the details of its making Tata Nano is a rear-engine, four-passenger city car built by Tata Motors in India. It is aimed primarily at the Indian market. It is the cheapest car in the world today. The car has a fuel efficiency of around 26 kilometers per liter (73 mpg-imp; 61 mpg-US) on the highway and around 22 kilometers per liter (62 mpg-imp; 52 mpg-US) in the city. This is a very efficient feature of this car. It debuted at the 9th annual Auto Expo on January 10, 2008, in New Delhi, India. The Nano had its commercial launch on March 23, 2009, and a booking period from April 9 to April 25, generating more than 200,000 bookings for the car. The cars started to be delivered to customers after July 17, 2009. It has a starting price of Rs. 100,000, which is approximately equal to UK 1,360 or US$ 2,160 as of December 2009. Making Tata Nano the cheapest car in the world. This is cheaper than the Maruti 800, its main competitor and next cheapest Indian car priced at Rs. 184,641 ($3,988 U.S). Tata had sought to produce the least expensive production car in the world aiming for a starting price of Rs. 100,000 (approximately US$2,000 as of June 2009).

They actively sought new design approaches from suppliers. The car was initially designed at the prestigious Italys Institute of Development in Automotive Engineering. Tata Motors has also elected to sheath the Nano in sheet metal instead of the more conventional plastic, which is the usual choice. Tata has also elected to use a 33-horsepower engine, which makes the Nanos top speed max out at 60 miles-per-hour, but yield a fuel efficiency ratio of 50 miles per gallon. This makes Tata nano a dream car which every common man desires. Its fuel efficiency makes it an environmentally sound option.

Some have also already declared it to be transportation revolution since it ushers in the era of cheap fuel efficient mode of transportation. Numerous competitors have already started revising their designs along the lines of Tata Nano.

Disadvantages Nano is made of light weighing steel and as the front side of the car is not too long there may maximum damage. Its top speed is 90km/hr

There is no power steering. But such a small car will not require power steering.

There are no air-conditioner, cassette player or power windows in the basic model. It has only 4 gears which are manual and fuel tank capacity is 30lts.

Conclusion Tata Nano is a dream come true for transportation during recession. Tata Nano achieves what most people deemed impossible through originality and ingenuity. It is a no frills car that serves the needs of the general public and India's deplorable road conditions and notorious traffic. In this sense, the production and launch of Tata Nano can be called a revolution - not only to the consumers but also to industry players.
