aPPLICatIon PeRIoD
Application for admission to NUS opens in mid October with different closing dates for different academic qualifications. Applicants are advised to visit the Office of Admissions website at http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/apply/international/admissionreq/BYa-admissionreq.html for details on when and how to apply. For undergraduate courses (except the University Scholars Programme and music), please submit an online application form via the Office of Admissions website at http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/apply/international/applications/WYa-applicationform.html. Please note that aside from the general admission requirements, different courses require applicants to fulfill certain subject prerequisites. Applicants should ensure that they fulfill the subject pre-requisites for the courses which they wish to be considered for. The full list of subject pre-requisites is available at http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/apply/international/prerequisites/BYa-prerequisites.html#top. Your complete application must reach the NUS Office of Admissions by the application closing date relevant to the qualification you are offering.

The application outcome will be released progressively between May and mid-July. If successful, the applicant will receive a letter of offer and an admissions package containing information on enrolment, application forms for campus accommodation and loan schemes.

science (sPs) The SPS was founded in 1996 to nurture talent among budding scientists. It is an intense programme for a selected group of undergraduates with a fierce passion and strong aptitude for science. A string of flexible and interactive modules allow for a more multidisciplinary approach when facing scientific problems, and the incredible amount of flexibility allows students to design their own modules and plan semester-long research projects. 1. aCaDeMIC QUaLIFICatIons
NUS warmly invites all who have completed or are in the process of completing high school and who meet the respective course requirements to apply for admission. Your high school qualification should be equivalent to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A Level examination. Other qualifications that are acceptable for admission are:

For certain qualifications, applicants are required to furnish additional English Language test scores to fulfill the English Language requirement set by the university. REQUIREMENTS
A total of all A level subjects grades in 2 sittings taken within 12 months of each other will be allowed. Applicants with at least 3 A level subjects grades may apply but applicants who present good grades in more than 3 A level subjects are, generally, considered to be more competitive. Applicants without actual results must submit SAT scores (Reasoning and Subject Tests) for our consideration. Applicants must have completed the qualification/certificate with a ENTER/TER/UAI/OP to apply for admission. Applicants must have completed the qualification/certificate with at least 85% per subject to apply for admission. Applicants must have completed the Diploma to apply for admission. Applicants must submit TOEFL or IELTS. Applicants must have completed the Arbitur to apply for admission. Applicants must submit TOEFL or IELTS. Applicants must have completed or are completing Indian Year 12 in the year of admission to apply for admission. Applicants must have completed High School Certificate to apply for admission. Applicants must submit TOEFL or IELTS. Applicants must have completed UEC to apply for admission. Applicants must submit TOEFL or IELTS or EL119 or MUET. Applicants applying for Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing will compete for University Entrance Examinations. Applicants submitting actual VHS results must submit TOEFL or IELTS. Applicants completing VHS in the year of admission will compete for consideration for University Entrance Examinations and are not required to submit TOEFL or IELTS. Applicants must submit SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject Tests for consideration for admission. Applicants who reside in countries without SAT test centers may submit the ACT in replacement of the SAT scores.

3. otHeR ReQUIReMents
For certain qualifications, applicants are required to sit for additional SAT tests or take the University Entrance Examinations.

sat Requirements
sat Reasoning test The SAT Reasoning Test consists of 3 Sections, Critical Reading Section, Writing Section and Mathematics Section. For the Reasoning Test, all 3 Sections (i.e. Critical Reading Section, Writing Section and Mathematic Section) have to be taken in one sitting. Mixing and matching of different sections scores from various sitting is not accepted. sat subject tests The SAT Subject Tests consist of 3 Subjects Tests. Compulsory subjects for the Subject Tests include: Mathematics Level II^ A second subject of your choice (excluding Mathematics Level I) A third subject of your choice (excluding Mathematics Level I)
Mathematics II is a compulsory subject for all courses except Law. Applicants applying for admission to Law may take any subject, including Mathematics I, in lieu of Mathematics II.

University entrance examination


NUS conducts a University Entrance Examination (UEE) for selected applicants presenting certain qualifications to assess their suitability for admission to its undergraduate courses in each Academic Year. Shortlisted candidates will be considered for admission based on their performance at the UEE and at the sole discretion of the university. Unless invited, candidates will not be allowed to take or appeal to take the UEE. The UEE will be conducted in February/March in Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore. Students applying for the Medicine and Dentistry courses are required to submit actual results by the respective closing dates applicable to the qualifications they are offering, as shortlisting for tests and interviews is based on actual results. Shortlisted candidates for courses in Architecture, Dentistry, Industrial Design, Law, Nursing or Medicine will be notified via email to attend additional tests and/or interviews conducted at the university in April and May each year to assess their suitability for the courses.

tUItIon Fees
The Government of Singapore provides a substantial tuition fee subsidy in the form of a tuition grant which is offered to all students. Students who opt for the tuition grant need to pay only subsidised fees ranging from about $11,000 to $32,000 per year, depending on their nationality and course of study. While there is no repayment required for the tuition grant, non-Singapore citizens in receipt of it will be required to undertake a service bond by working for a Singapore-registered company for three years upon completion of their undergraduate degrees so as to discharge their obligation to the Singapore public for the high subsidy to their university education.

Financial aid applications are available online from 1 February 1 April each year. Please access the Financial Aid website at http://www.nus.edu.sg/financialaid/ for details on the application procedure. Prospective students who require financial assistance should apply for Financial Aid during the stipulated application period regardless whether an admission offer has been given by the University or there is an intention to apply for other financial aid or scholarships. Students should also note that application for financing under the bank-administered Tuition Fee Loan Scheme can be made upon acceptance of the admission offer.

The loan quantum is based on Singapore citizen tuition fee rate. For example, the tuition fee payable for a Singaporean and international Engineering undergraduate student in the academic year 2010/2011 is $6,890 and $11,030 per annum respectively. The total loan quantum under the Tuition Fee Loan and NUS Study Loan that an eligible international Engineering undergraduate can avail would be $6,890 plus $3,600 per annum. example of Financial aid for an eligible international undergraduate student in engineering
