e produce este octavo Informe sobre certificacin en Espaa en un momento crucial marcado por la cercana del cambio a la nueva versin de la norma, la ISO 9001:2000. Como es sabido, tal cambio se producir a mediados de diciembre y constituir un autntico punto de ruptura por cuanto los certificados segn las versiones antiguas 9001, 9002 y 9003 del ao 1994 ya no sern reconocidos como acreditados. Se abre una incgnita apasionante

sobre el desarrollo que la certificacin tendr no a largo plazo sino a corto y medio: durante los primeros meses del presente ao 2003 y algo despus pasarn a la nueva versin todas las organizaciones que estaban certificadas con la antigua? aumentarn las certificaciones al ritmo al que estbamos acostumbrados? ganar en apreciacin la certificacin con la llegada de la nueva norma?...

Certificacin segn ISO 900x

El nmero de empresas certificadas durante el ao 2002 ha seguido creciendo, aunque a un ritmo menor al que estbamos acostumbrados, un 13 por 100. Parece ser que la coyuntura econmica no ha ayudado precisamente a que las cifras hayan sido mejores. La certificacin segn la nueva versin de la norma ha crecido muy sensi-

blemente desde un total de 1.500 certificaciones a finales del ao 2001 (un 7 por 100 del total) a ms de 8.800 a finales de 2002 (un 31 por 100 del total de certificaciones). Con estos datos, an quedaran sin pasar a ella cerca de 20.000 organizaciones (ms las nuevas que deseen certificarse por primera vez), lo que obligar a seguir con apasionamiento lo que vaya a suceder hasta finales de ao, fecha en la que vence la validez de las Cantidad de certificados por ao y acumulados. Cambios en las entidades certificadoras

El presente Informe incluye por primera vez los datos de dos nuevas certificadoras, ACC Acreditacin y Certificacin S.L. y AIDICO Entidad de Certificacin. A estos cambios debemos aadir los de denominacin de algunas entidades: BVQI sustituye a la antigua Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI); DQ Cert a Delfos Qualitas y Distribucin de certificados por Comunidades Autnomas. EIGHTH REPORT FROM FORUM CALIDAD
This Eighth Report comes to light in a crucial moment marked by the arrival of the change to the new version of the standard, the ISO 9001:2000. As it is known, the switching will take place on middle December and shall constitute a true breakpoint as all certificates granted according old versions 9001, 9002 and 903 will lose their validity as accredited ones. Therefore, some exciting short and medium term questions open along 2003 and afterwards: will all certified organizations switch to the new standard?, will the certification growing rate maintain its rhythm?, will the certification gain the appreciation of the organizations with the venue of the new standard?...

Certification against ISO 9000

The number of organizations certified during the year 2002 has kept growing, although at a pace smaller than the one we were accustomed to: a 13 per 100. It seems that the economical situation has not helped much for better figures. The certification against the new version of the standard has gone up rapidly from 1,500 certifications at the end of 2001 (a 7 per 100) to more than 8,800 at the end of 2002 (a 31 per 100 of the total number of certifications). Even so, a total of about 20,000 organizations (plus the newcomers) remain to cross the boundary to the :2000 version; this will force us to passionately follow the evolution of events up to the end of this year, when old dated certifications will not be anymore valid.

In spite of the poor economic environment that, as we have said, seems to have affected the figures, there are some increments worth mentioning. TV Internacional, Grupo TV Rheinland has seen a growing of 70 per 100 in the number of their certificates; SGS ICS has scored a 63, DQ Cert (formerly Delfos Qualitas) a 41 and AENOR a 37 per 100 compared to the previous year. These data are opposed to the opinion and results of a fair number of registrars for whom 2002 has been a difficult year that only started to mend itself by its second semester.

Accreditation
The number of accredited entities has changed. AIDICO is a new name in the list, whilst the accreditations of Assessment&Quality Register (AQR) and TV Rheinland Ibrica (this one voluntarily) have been withdrawn. The accreditation list of entities operating in the environmental fields does not show any change.

Environmental certifications
There is a sensible change in the trend of the figures corresponding to the number of certifications in the environmental fields, according to the ISO 14001 standard and the EMAS system. Whilst the number of EMAS certifications shows a very small diminution (93 certificates in 2002 compared to 96 in 2001), the figures corresponding to the 14001 standard do feature an increment as expected, though a bit smaller, a 35 per 100 growing in 2002 compared to a 38 per 100 in 2001. No doubt, we must see also here the impact of the poorer economic feeling during 2002 already mentioned in the Report.

Changes in the Registrars

This Report includes for the first time data corresponding to two new registrars, ACC Acreditacin y Certificacin and AIDICO Entidad de Certificacin. To this it has to be added several changes affecting the names of some entities: BVQI substitutes the old Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI); DQ Cert is the former Delfos Qualitas; TV Internacional, Grupo TV is the new name of Grupo TV Rheinland, and the name TV Management Service gathers the data corresponding to the formerly called Grupo Sddeutschland.

Las acreditaciones de certificadoras de Sistemas de Gestin Medioambiental y de Verificadores Medioambientales no han presentado variacin respecto al informe anterior.

Certificacin medioambiental
En la certificacin de Sistemas de Gestin Medioambiental se produce

una diferencia de comportamiento entre las cifras correspondientes al nmero de certificaciones concedidas segn la norma ISO 14001 y las correspondientes al Reglamento EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme). As, mientras en la certificacin segn el esquema EMAS se ha producido una muy pequea disminucin en el nmero de certificaciones respecto al ao anterior (93 en 2002 frente a 96

en 2001), s que ha continuado creciendo la cantidad de organizaciones que obtienen certificados segn la norma 14001, aunque en cifras ligeramente inferiores a las del ao pasado 35 por 100 en 2002 frente a un 38 por 100 en el ao 2001. Sin duda hay que ver en este hecho, de nuevo, la mala situacin en general del entorno econmico a lo largo del ao 2002 a la que ya nos hemos referido en otras partes del Informe. G
