ARAGONA PULLOVER by Gedifra

Sizes: to fit bust 32/34" and 36/38" (finished bust 39/42"; finished length 27/28.5"). Directions for the smaller size are before the stroke, with larger sizes behind. If there is only one figure, it applies to all sizes. All measurements of line chart are in centimeters (cm). Materials: - 650(700) g Gedifra Aragona (46% cotton, 31% acrylic, 23% polyamide, about 80 m/ 5O g), shown in color #3304. - 5.0mm (US 8) needles and same size circular needles 24" [60 cm] long, or size to obtain gauge. Stockinet stitch (st-st): K RS rows; P WS rows; in rounds K all sts. Basic pattern: see chart. Only right panel is shown for size 32/34". Work left panel in reverse to match, details for this and for size 36/38"are given in method. Only RS rows are given; on WS work sts. as they appear and yarn-overs as given. Gauge: 16 sts. and 22-23 rows st-st, each to 4" [10 cm]. METHOD Back: cast on 81(87) sts., P 3 rows, then cont in basic patt foll chart, thus on 1st row

work the first 9 sts. given, then for size 32"/ 34 work 63 sts. st-st; for size 36/ 38" work 69 sts. st-st, then K2 tog, K2, yarn-over, work rem sts. in patt. On foll row work left panel in reverse to right and cont diagonal panel to inside as given, thus for size 36/ 38" work 6 sts. more to center motif. When work measures 20 3/4" (22") [53(56) cm], after 118 (124) rows basic patt, bind off at each end for armholes 3(4) sts. once = 75(79) sts., then dec 1 st. on every 2nd row 15 (16)times. When work measures 26 3/4 (28") [67(71) cm], after 150(158) rows basic patt, bind off rem 45(47) sts. Front: proceed as for back except for neck. When work measures 20 3/4" (22") [53(56) cm], tog with start of armhole shaping, divide work at center for neck and cont each side sep. Slip center st. onto a holder and cont over right shoulder panel first. On 119th (125th) row bind off 4(5)sts., then work 32(34)sts. in patt, K2 tog, K2, cast on 1 edge st. anew = 37 (39) sts. The cont to dec as given, working edge st. for yarn-over. When work measures 26 3/4" (28") [67(71) cm], after all dec, 7 sts. rem. On foll RS row bind off the first 3 sts., then cast on 1 edge st. anew and cont even for another 6" (6 1/4") [15(16) cm] over these 4 sts. Slip center st. onto a holder and work left shoulder panel in reverse to end. Sleeves (both alike): cast on 40(46) sts. and P 3 rows. Cont in st-st. At the same time inc for sleeve shaping at each end 1 st. on every 12th row 4 times and 1 st. on every 8th row 5 times = 58(64) sts. When work measures 16 1/2" [42 cm] bind off for armholes at each end 3(4) sts. once = 52(56) sts., then 1 st. on every 2nd row 15(16) times as for back, thus work edge st. and K1, then slip 1 knit-wise, K1, pass slipped st. over; work to 4 from end of row, then K2 tog, K1, and work 1 edge st. When work measures 21 3/4" (22 1/2) [55(57) cm] bind off rem 22(24) sts. Finishing: block pieces to measurements, cover with a damp cloth and allow to dry. Join all seams and sew sleeves in position. Graft neck band edges tog. Then sew band to neck edge. Pick up about 99(105) sts. around neck edge plus the center st. off holder = 100(106) sts., then bind off all sts. knitwise.
