The Lords Supper Is...

...A means by which the church remembers and shows forth Christs passion and death on the cross, ...A perpetual means given to the church to celebrate and experience the continuing presence of the risen Lord, and ...A means by which the church proclaims her joyful expectation of the Lords return.

Thought for the Week

I met a young man not long ago who dives for exotic fish for aquariums. He said one of the most popular aquarium fish is the shark. He explained that if you catch a small shark and confine it, it will stay a size proportionate to the aquarium. Sharks can be six inches long yet fully matured. But if you turn them loose in the ocean, they grow to their normal length of eight feet. That also happens to some Christians. I've seen some of the cutest little six-inch Christians who swim around in a little puddle. But if you put them into a larger arena--into the whole creation--only then can they become great. Charles

Welcome to Worship
elcome to New Hope Church, a place for new beginnings! If you are visiting, you will discover a loving, spirit-filled church family. Here is some helpful information as you join us in worship today: All who worship here are equals in the sight of God, regardless of race, age, gender, physical disability or religious affiliation. Communion, when celebrated, is open to all who profess Christ as Lord and Savior, whether affiliated with this church or not. Children may partake of Communion as well, if parents approve. A nursery is available during the service; please see a greeter for directions. (This is for infants and children up to 3 years of age.) Handicap-accessible restrooms are located off the narthex (foyer) and adjacent to the entrance lobby in the Fellowship Hall/Gym. Please remember to sign the attendance folder at your pew so we will have a record of your visit with us today. Thank you for remembering to silence your cell phone during the service. No food or beverages in the sanctuary, please. If you arrived as a visitor we hope that you leave as a friend and worship with us often! New Hope Church exists to: Glorify God in worship and rejoice in our life together; Share the Good News of the Gospel in word and deed; Reach as many as we can with the saving love of Jesus; Help each person grow toward Christian maturity.

Stephen Ministry Got a burden? New Hope people dont have to carry that burden alone. You can have a Stephen Minister who will spend time with you, listen to you, and walk beside you. If you are interested in providing or receiving care through the Stephen Ministry program at New Hope, please contact the pastor through the Church office at (615) 449-7020 and request that a Stephen minister contact you. All men in the church are invited to the Community Mens Breakfast and Bible Study, which meets here at the church every Tuesday morning from 6:00 7:00. This small group has great meaning to the men who attend and is a way of helping some man who may not go to a church on Sundays to feel more comfortable in this relaxed, informal setting.

Ministries/Activities within Our Church

After Church today Brad is taking the youth and children Christmas shopping. All youth and children over first grade and up are invited and anyone who would like to come along to help out is welcome. Youth will get back to the church by 4:00. Youth Christmas Party will be Sunday, Dec. 11, after church at Brads house. All Middle and Senior High youth are invited to come hang out for a fun time that includes gift-swapping. Childrens Christmas Play. Ben will be producing this years play again and needs a LOT of volunteers to make this a success. There are pictures on our website of previous years plays. Ben needs more children to participate, and will announce when play practices are scheduled. New Hope Choir Led by Ben, the New Hope choir is more than just a choir. It is a small group that meets on Sunday evenings to, yes, practice some songs, but also to fellowship, express concerns, reflect on a devotional together and pray for one another. We are blessed by hearing the choir, and those in the choir are blessed to be in it together. Join the choir and find out why! They meet every Sunday evening at 6:00.
