Once you have ordered your Rochen Host, Paid the fees, and received the Authorization email from Rochen you can install Joomla and begin setting up your site.

FTP Client FileZilla


Download FileZilla CLIENT (not the Server software) Reasons for FileZilla: I am told that FileZilla can handle the large number of files that Joomla has. FileZilla is available for both Macs & Windows Machines

After you have downloaded and installed the CLIENT FileZilla run/open it

To set up your Site Manager: 1. Click File 2. Select Site Manager 3. Click the New Site button 4. Enter the following info on the General Tab

Click Connect button

When you are logged in you will see the FileZilla FTP screen. Your computers directory will be on the left and your server account will be on the right.

Where you will be putting Joomla files will be on the right in the /public_html directory.

Double Click it to open /public_html.

Youre /Public_HTML directory should should contain the same directories and files as when you open a browser and type in your URL or your IP address. Mine is: http://VermontGrowers.com

By default it only contains the /cgi-bin directory.

NOTE: If you do not yet have a URL then order it now.

C-Panel
To log into your C-Panel , use the cPanel Login Information from your Rochen eMail.

The MySQL database and MySQL user vermontg_jo151 will be created and used for this installation. - You chose to install in the domain vermontgrowers.com, in a subdirectory called Joomla-1517.

The Fantastico installer Creates a MySQL database And it sets up the database login & password from the data you entered into the install screen fields. In the PHP code you will find things like this:

Rochen Vault info found on the Rochen Web Site


Rochen Vault is our enterprise managed backup system that you can use to restore account files from the previous 30 days. You can login to Rochen Vault using your cPanel username and password.

Login URL: https://vault.rochen.com Username: vermontg Password: super secret - Name Server / DNS Information In order to use your domain name (vermontgrowers.com) with your new Rochen account then you will need to point it towards our Name Servers. You can make the appropriate name server / DNS record changes for your domain at your domain registrar (the provider who you registered your domain through, example: GoDaddy.com ). For example, if you registered your domain at Network Solutions, you will have to contact Network Solutions in order to make the name server / DNS changes for your domain. Please change the name servers / DNS records for your domain name to the following: ns69.rochenhost.com ip: 206.123.105.3 ns70.rochenhost.com ip: 206.123.105.4 everyones ns## will be different everyones IP address will be different Some Web Hosts want the URL name Some Web Hosts want the IP address

NOTE: Your domain will resolve to your Rochen account 48 - 72 hours after you have made these changes. If your domain is not resolving to your account 72 hours after these changes have been made then please open a support ticket via My Rochen at: https://my.rochen.com For information on accessing your site before making any name server changes please see: http://my.rochen.com/temporary_access.html - Customer Forums If you have not done so already we *highly recommend* you register at our Customer Forums: http://forums.rochen.com. After registering for an account at the forums you will be required to enable customer level access for your account. /home/vermontg/ - This is your home directory. All of your files are stored within this directory. Files placed directly in this directory will not be visible on the internet. You will start out in your home directory when connecting by FTP, Web Disk or the File Manager.

/home/vermontg/public_ftp/ - This is the directory used for anonymous FTP access. Any files in this directory can be downloaded by anyone if anonymous FTP access is enabled.

/home/vermontg/public_html/ (www) - The public_html directory contains the files for your site. Files in public_html and any subdirectories of public_html will be able to be viewed by anyone on the internet.. (/home/vermontg/www/ is the same directory as /home/vermontg/public_html/).

When someone views a directory in your public_html area, they will see the index page for that directory. When creating your index page, you should use one of the following names (the first one found will be shown if the visitor doesn't type in a specific page in their URL):

Mail Client Configuration for jilmac@vermontgrowers.comWhen accessing an email account through a desktop email application such as Outlook Express, the email application will require specific information about that email account. You can use the auto-configure options below to attempt to automatically configure your email application. If the available options are not compatible with your application, you will need to use the Manual Settings information to configure the application.

Note: IMAP email access coordinates between the server and you mail application. Messages that have been read/deleted/replied-to will show as read/deleted/replied-to both on the server and in the mail application. POP3 does not coordinate with the server. Messages marked as read/deleted/replied-to in the mail application will not show as read/deleted/replied-to on the server. This means that future downloads of your inbox or other mailboxes with POP3 will show all messages as unread.
