CORE Projects bags Rs. 120 cr. order from Gujarat Govt.

Bags contract in Gujarat for implementing Computer Aided Learning (CAL) Expands foot print across India Crossed a major milestone crossing over 9,000 schools in India in a record span of just over a year

MUMBAI, August 9, 2011: Making rapid strides in the Indian education sector, Indias largest global education company, Core Projects and Technologies Limited (CORE) has crossed a major milestone crossing a tally of over 9,000 schools in India in a record span of just over a year. CORE has bagged its second large contract from Gujarat Government to implement Computer Aided Learning (CAL) in 3121 Primary Schools in the State of Gujarat for Rs. 124 cr. CORE is already present in 645 schools in Gujarat through an earlier Information and Communication Technology (ICT) contract. The company has also bagged similar CAL & ICT contracts for 2,622 schools in Haryana, 1,250 in Punjab, 947 in Maharashtra, 267 in Meghalaya, and 73 schools in Nagaland. Globally, CORE caters to over 85,000 schools across 20 State Governments in US, 40 Educational Departments in UK, 9 African countries and 12 State Governments in India, touching lives of more than 31 million students. Mr. Sanjeev Mansotra, Chairman and Global CEO, CORE Projects and Technologies Limited, said: We are glad we have made major inroads into the Indian education space. Expounding on the domain expertise of the company, Mr. Mansotra added: "In a first of its kind Private initiative in the Public Sector, CORE has also been mandated to deploy School Quality Enhancement Programs at 60 Navodaya Vidyalaya Samitis and 25 Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathans. This could pave way for its implementation across all other Government schools in the country. The latest Gujarat project will augment the focus of the State Government to improve the quality of education in schools by ushering in enhanced use of technology. The project, which is expected to generate over 3,250 jobs, covers five districts - Surat, Vadodara, Dahod, Baruch and Narmada - and 2 Municipal corporations - Surat and Vadodara. The company is already working with the State on several fronts for Skill Development initiatives. Speaking on the latest order, Mr. Mansotra said: We are happy to partner the Government of Gujarat in this prestigious project and are confident that the primary school children will be able to get a strong foundation which will go a long way in building a globally competitive India.
