The Gingerbread Pirates

By: Kristin Kladstrup Call Number: E KLA Grade: K-4 A gingerbread pirate, Captain Cookie, comes alive to rescue his crew from a hungry Santa Claus.

Suggestion: This would be a good story to use to introduce exclamation points. Exclamation points are used liberally through out the story in different situations and tones.

Suggestion: This is a fun story for the holidays from a different perspective. The story would compliment the reading of the Gingerbread Baby and Gingerbread Friends.

Suggestion: This would be good to use as an introduction to inventions and science exploration. The brothers did not start out wanting to be inventors but developed into them.
