Information Technology Policy, Procedures and Operating Standards Riverbed Backup and Restore Procedure

PURPOSE The purpose of this policy is to define how to backup and restore the configurations in a Riverbed Device.

APPLICABILITY This procedure applies to the IT staf with access to the Riverbed devices at YAMANA Gold. This procedure applies to all equipment that is owned or leased by YAMANA Gold.

RIVERBED BACKUP AND RESTORE CONFIGURATION Backup Procedure 1. Open a Internet Explorer session and go to the Riverbed IP address 2. Login with a valid username and password to the Riverbed Device 3. Go to Configure > Configurations and fil the New Configuration Name box and then click on Save:

4. Go to Change Active Configuration, select the entry called Initial and click on the Activate button 5. If you dont have it, download the PSCP software from http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html and save it in a local folder 6. Open a command promt window and go to folder where you save the PSCP software 7. Run the command: pscp admin@steelhead:/config/db/backupconfig localbackupdirectory, where: admin is the username used to connect to the device steelhead is the IP address of the device backupconfig is the name used to save the current configuration in the step 3 localbackupdirectory is a local directory in your computer where the configuration can be saved 8. When prompted enter the password of the username used to connect to 9. Wait until the process finish

Restore Procedure 1. If you dont have it, download the PSCP software from http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html and save it in a local folder 2. Open a command promt window and go to folder where you save the PSCP software 3. Run the command: pscp localbackupdirectory/backupconfig admin@steelhead:/config/db, where: localbackupdirectory is a local directory in your computer where the configuration where saved backupconfig is the name of the saved configuration admin is the username used to connect to the device steelhead is the IP address of the device 4. Open a Internet Explorer session and go to the Riverbed IP address 5. Login with a valid username and password to the Riverbed Device 6. Go to Configure > Configurations 7. Go to Change Active Configuration, select the entry uploaded in the step 3 and click on the Activate button 8. Restart the device REVISION HISTORY
