Vayishlach 2011
This portion, Vayishlach/And He Sent covering Genesis 23:3-36:43 falls during the month of Kislev, the 9th month on the calendar of Yahweh. We know that the Torah and the calendar of Yahweh go hand in hand and will always reveal things about each other, providing the necessary dots for the entire picture to connect. Its within this portion that many events that are prophetical forerunners of the end days take place dealing with the house of Jacob and especially the war between the 2 seed lines the seed of the woman/Messiah and the seed of the serpent. Because in order for Jacob to return to the land, he must face Esau! The title Vayishlach comes from Strongs #7971 shalach to send away, to let go, to be divorced; 1st reference is when Adam and Eve are sent out/divorced from the Garden of Eden because of their compromise with the serpent. Gematria of shalach = 338, same as lebuwsh wife or spouse This portion dealing with Jacobs return home is symbolic of the Brides journey back as well from where she has been sent out/divorced! Before we begin to look at the actions of Jacob here, we need to get some background on the war between the 2 seed lines. Genesis 3:14-15, 18-19 Notice the phrase herb of the field eseb herb & sadeh field this is a unique word play with the name Esau who was a man of the sadeh/field! Genesis 32:3 And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother unto the land of Seir, the country (sadeh meaning field) of Edom. Esau: Strongs #6215 Esav hairy; 2 letter root forms #6211 ash moth Job 4:19 How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay (reference to our physical bodies) whose foundation is in the dust (Genesis dust you are) which are crushed before the moth? Jacob is now having to prepare to face the one who consumes the dust! This becomes part of the judgment the eseb sadeh/herb of the field or Esau, man of the field. *Herb/eseb is spelled with the same letters as sheba meaning 7 or to swear, deals with entering into a Covenant. Esau is coming with 400 men (Gen. 32:6). 400 = meaning covenant. 400 is also seen in 1 Kings 7:42 where there are 400 pomegranates at the top of the 2 pillars in the Temple. With the Temple being laid out in the form of a man, the 2 pillars represent the legs and loins of the man and the 400 pomegranates his seed. Esau is coming just as the serpent came to Eve to make the Bride (Jacob) 1
enter into the wrong covenant and accept the wrong seed! Genesis 32:1-3 Mahanaim: Strongs #4266 Machanayim two camps; plural of #4264 machaneh encampment, camp; from #2583 chanah to decline, incline, encamp, bend down, lay siege against; becomes a prophetical declaration that Jacobs camp is about to become 2, the house is split. (Remember this!) *The location of Mahanaim is where Jacob is located at in preparation to face Esau. Mahanaim is later assigned to Merari, a section of the tribe of Levi. Merari: Strongs #4847 Merariy bitter, a reference to the bitter waters of Numbers 5:17 And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put [it] into the water. Is it possible that Jacob (representing the Bride) is being faced with the ordeal of the bitter waters to prove whether or not he can return/come home? The bitter waters were required when a woman was accused of adultery Laban accuses the house of Jacob of this very thing in Genesis 31 he accuses them of stealing his idols! *Gematria of Merari = 450, same as nashaq means to kiss what Esau does when he sees Jacob. Since Rachel did in fact take these idols, the partaking of these waters will result in death for the house, a repeat of Genesis 3 (the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die Genesis 2:17), hence the reason Esau (representing the serpent) is on his way to consume the dust! It seems that Jacob is in quite a dilemma! Notice as well that in preparing for this battle Jacobs house is divided split in two or split off. Why is Jacob doing this? Is it out of fear? But remember Jacob understands the Covenant and has a promise from Yahweh! Theres a precedent set by Abraham, his grandfather, and Jacob is following his example. Genesis 15:10 And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another Jacob divides his house as he faces the bitter waters, just as Abraham divided the sacrifices. *Abraham divides them in preparation for the smoking furnace and burning lamp to pass between them, referring to the Messiah! Jacob is doing the same thing! Hes dividing his house and preparing for the Messiah to walk between the one that will deliver him from Esau and from the bitter waters! Genesis 32:12 And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude. This statement was made to Abraham in Genesis 22:17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the 2
heaven, and as the sand which [is] upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies *This is directly after Isaac is lifted up in a shadow picture of the Messiah Jacob was reminding Yahweh of the Covenant promise that he would be redeemed from the dust by the Messiah! Merari was responsible for the framework of the Tabernacle. Numbers 3:36 And [under] the custody and charge of the sons of Merari [shall be] the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the vessels thereof, and all that serveth thereto Boards: Strongs #7175 qeresh board, planks; from an unused root meaning to split off (Jacob splits his house) Bars: Strongs #1280 beriyach bar, a fortress; a cognate of #1281 bariyach crooked or fleeing a description of the serpent (Job 26:13) Pillars: Strongs #5982 ammuwd the Temple man is located
Sockets: Strongs #134 eden base, pedestal, socket; play on words with the name Eden (Garden of Eden) *As Jacob prepares to face Esau he splits his house in faith knowing that the smoking lamp will walk between them, becoming a fortress against the serpent (who will flee from the one who will crush his head) and that the seed of Yahweh will enable him to return to Eden the place that he has been sent out/divorced from!
Hanukkah
Its this location Mahanaim that begins to lay a foundation for the connections between whats about to happen in this portion and the festival of Hanukkah. Hanukkah: Strongs #2598 Chanukkah dedication, consecration *Notice that Hanukkah has the same 3 letter root as Mahanaim meaning to lay siege against, Hanukkah has the added letter as David shared last night every letter represents something in the Tabernacle/Temple, the represents the altar making the word Hanukkah mean to lay siege against the altar The term Hanukkah is used in reference to the dedication of the altar. Remember that the history of the Feast known as Hanukkah dealt with the altar being rededicated after having been desecrated by Antiochus Epiphanies. The war between the 2 seed lines (between Jacob & Esau) has an intricate connection to one laying siege
against the altar. Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease Notice the battle that takes place over the altar, both during history and also the future struggle. Altar: Strongs #4196 mizbeach altar *In the Temple (built in the form of a man laid out on the earth) the altar represents the feet (the 2 pillars Jachin and Boaz are laid down to form the legs). Foot: Strongs #7272 regel foot (feet are symbolic of the reproductive organs) In the Temple man, the tops of the pillars form the area of the loins (houses the seed 400 pomegranates). The altar is not the loins of the man, but the altar is the womb! Genesis 1:27 speaks of Yahweh creating male and female, but the physical body of Adam is not formed until 2:7, at which time he has both the seed and womb, then Eve is taken out in Genesis 2:21 the womb is removed. The Temple represents the intent of Yahweh for the 2 to become 1 in an intimate relationship echad again! The altar then represents the womb, and this is why the Bride comes to the altar to be made echad with the Messiah! ( foot) root (#1530 ׻) 1) a spring, it indicates the bride as a barred spring, a spring sealed up/shut up to assert her chastity 2) bowl, basin, a container for oil (represents the seed); its here that she can become a spring sealed up again, a fit vessel for the seed of Messiah! This same picture is seen in John 12:3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Yahshua, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment. This is why the bloodshed/sacrifice to bring atonement takes place upon the altar it was the womb of the Bride that was compromised by the Serpent, therefore cleansing and a covering is needed. And this is part of the significance of the shutting down of the altar by the antimessiah its the attempt at compromising Eve again! Here lies the connection between Hanukkah and the dedication of the altar and the fact that Yahshua was conceived during the festival of Hanukkah. He is placed in the womb, in other words He restores the altar and His Bride! The name of his mother and the name of the woman who anoints his feet is Mary, from the Hebrew Miriam: Strongs #4813 rebellion; = bitter & = sea, water the bitter waters. Jacobs house is not consumed by Esau because there was a promise that the altar would be redeemed.
This is in connection with Hanukkah, which takes place during the 9th month on the Hebrew calendar, known as Kislev. Kislev: Strongs #3691 Kiclev His confidence; from the root #3689 kecel loins, flank, confidence, or hope. *As Jacob prepares to face one who seeks to destroy him, Jacob has confidence and hope in the one who will come from his loins! There is one son that is yet to be born at this point in the life of Jacob Benjamin! And its through Benjamin that we have revealed to us the one way the altar/womb can be cleansed! Genesis 35:16 19 Benoni: Strongs #1126 Ben-Owniy son of my sorrow; gematria = 119 Benjamin: Strongs #1144 Binyamiyn son of the right hand; gematria = 162, same as the phrase al hamizbeach or on the altar; 162 + 119 (the two titles of this son) = 281, tells you what is going to be placed on the altar - same value as #665 epher ashes specifically refers to the ashes of the red heifer (needed to make the waters of purification, cleansing waters), play on words with aphar dust Ephrath: Strongs #672 Ephraath ash heap or place of fruitfulness; contains the same root epher as the ashes of the red heifer Jacob has hope in the one who will be laid out upon the altar, the Messiah, in order to offer the house the waters of purification to cleanse those who are as dust waiting to be consumed by the serpent/Esau and redeem them from the mar yam, the bitter waters. He understands the Bride will be made fruitful when the womb is cleansed by the ashes of the Red Heifer, the parah adamah, ( Adam with the or Messiah whos purpose is to cleanse the altar)! *Gematria of Ephrath = 681 same as herb of the field eseb sadeh the curse brought about because of the brides desecration! Revelation 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of Yahweh and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him This is hinted at throughout all of Jacobs actions during this encounter! The name of this portion Vayishlach has a gematria of 354, same as deshen ( Strongs #1880) to be fresh, thriving, to anoint, be fertile, ashes of a burnt offering the ashes acquired from the sacrifice will make the barren womb that was compromised fertile again! Notice that it also means to anoint and it is the Mashiyach (anointed one) that is redeeming the altar! = door & teeth/to consume; the anointed one, Messiah,
becomes the door to redemption from the teeth which attempt to consume you. After the altar is desecrated by the serpent in the days ahead, its restored in the Millenial Kingdom. The reason? Ezekiel 45:17 to make reconciliation for the house of Israel Reconciliation: Strongs #3722 kaphar to cover, purge, make an atonement, this term means the imposing of something to change its appearance or nature *The house that was divided, split in two, will see a full reconciliation and our appearance, our nature will be changed we become a fit vessel through the altar!
