Entry Event World War I Project

To the students of Ms. Cannistracis Second Year Global Studies Class. World War I is considered a turning point in history because it changed the course of history in many ways. The causes of War World I was very different than the causes of past wars. The system of alliances brought many nations to the battlefield. World War I was the first technological war. The weapons used were far more devastating than any other weapons throughout history. Trench Warfare led to a No Mans Land on the Western Front. The civilian population was encouraged to support the war effort in many ways. Government used propaganda to insure unyielding support. Women were empowered as they filled jobs in male dominated fields. The end of the war and the Treaty of Versailles had an indelible impact on the history of the Twentieth Century. I need you to create a graphic novel or a movie that reflects: Why World War I was a new type of war? Many students will be taking the Global Studies Regents in January and your products will help them review for the state mandated test. I thank you in advance for your hard work, Ms. Cannistraci
