Procedure: Activating Blue Coat Web Filter

Thank you for purchasing Blue Coat Web Filter (BCWF). This document applies only to BCFW. If you purchased a license for a third-party content filter vendor, see the Activating Your Content Filtering License document. Accessing the online Blue Coat Licensing Portal requires a WebPower login. To request a WebPower login, go to http://www.bluecoat.com/support/supportservices/ webpower._formhtml and submit an online request. You will receive a response within one business day.

Retrieving Your BCWF License Key

1. In a Web browser, enter the following URL: http://services.bluecoat.com/eservice_enu/licensing/register.cgi

Login using your WebPower ID and password. Click Login. The Registration menu items become active.

Select Blue Coat Web Filter (BCWF). The menu expands and displays the default Blue Coat Web Filter Credentials screen. Generate the license key: a. Enter the activation code.

b. Click Submit. A license agreement page displays, providing the terms for accepting this license.

After reading the agreement, select I accept and click Next.

Record the generated Blue Coat BCWF username and password. An example is circled in blue.

1. In the Blue Coat SG Management Console, select Configuration>Content Filtering>General.

In the Provider field, select Blue Coat Web Filter. Click Apply. In the Blue Coat SG Management Console, select Configuration>Content
Filtering>Blue Coat>Blue Coat Web Filter.

Enter the generated username. Click Change Password. In the Change Password dialog, enter the generated password in both fields and Click OK. Click Download Now to download the pattern file. Click Apply.
