Corrections To Last Weeks Update

In last weeks update, an announcement about the Glgg Evening on 8 December was inc luded. Unfortunately, notification of its cancellation was rec eived after the news letter was already distributed. We offer our s incerest apologies for causing confusion and will attempt to make every effort to avoid a similar situation in the future. Also, a librarian at the Gtaberg Campus was unintentionally left out in the announcement about the librarians new blog. Along with Veronica and Louise, Mia also assists with the blog, which can

December 2011

The winter is here and it is time to switch to winter tires!

Winter tires are required during the period of December 1st to March 31st if it is winter conditions. In the autumn of 2010 they banned studded tires on Friggagatan and Odinsgatan in Gothenburg. Vehicles equipped with studded tires must then choose another path such as Ulleviegatan instead. Control of the new rules will be conducted by the police regularly. Those who do not comply with the law will face a fine of 1000 SEK.

The snow has arrived in Gothenburg!

Dont forget that you need to shovel the snow and sidewalk/pavement up to 10 meters outside of your property line. If there is no sidewalk/pavement, you are responsible for 1.2 meters outside the property line. If this has not been done and someone falls in your responsibility zone, you can be held accountable. For more information please see goteborg.se, search `skotta sn then select other languages.
