A marketing professional, Ashish has been part of the Lintas family for 17 years and helped set up operations in Burma and Vietnam. He previously headed Initiative Media and drove it to become India's leading media company. Currently Ashish is the Director of Integrated Marketing Action Group (IMAG), overseeing Linterland, Lowe Personal, LinOpinion, Advent, Lintertainment, Lowe Healthcare and dCell. Recently awarded as 'Media Marketer of the Year 2003'at the Brief Media Awards, Ashish is widely recognized for his contribution to the advertising world and as well as to the academic fraternity. Mastering business beyond borders, this Post Graduate Certificate Program enhances effectiveness within the field of Advertising and Marketing Communications, providing participants with a strong foundation in its principles and practice. Post Graduate Program in Advertising and Marketing Communications The Post Graduate Certificate Program in Advertising and Marketing Communications is held by Northpoint Centre of Learning in association with the Lintas India Group. The objective of this course is to produce professionals, in the field of Advertising and Marketing Communications who will be ready to hit the road running. The Edge:

Course Description

This course spans over 18 months and comprises 4 semesters. The emphasis, as laid out in the objectives, is in experiencing the communication process, while having a solid grounding in the theories involved as well. In an endeavor to develop all-round professionals, this course will also have sections that will help in the personality development of the participant. There will be activities that focus on physical well being through coaching in sports - facilities that are available at the Northpoint campus. While the course is anchored at Northpoint, the entire country is a campus for the participants of this course because during these 18 months, the participants will have to extensively travel and participate in various marketing related activities in different parts of the country. At the end of each semester, a project report has to be delivered and at the end of the final semester, a thesis has to be submitted, which will be subjected to a rigorous viva voce. There will also be periodic tests after every few sessions. The results of all the tests, project reports, thesis, viva voce and feedback received from the various stints done by the participants, will all collectively go towards final grades. In order to clear the course, the participant needs to have at least a 60% overall score as well as an impeccable disciplinary and attendance record. This will earn him/her the Northpoint Honours Certificate in Advertising and Marketing Communications. Employment is not guaranteed. Post the course, Northpoint will arrange for companies that may be interested in recruitment to meet the participants on the day of the final placement.

Selection Process

The PGPAMC is open to all graduates from the humanities, commerce, economics, mathematics, statistics, communications or management streams. CAT scores, if available, will be given due weightage. Work experience, though not essential, will be given due consideration. All those seeking admission, must submit their application, by downloading and completing the application form. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Written tests, Group Discussions and Interviews. Final selections will be made on the basis of the following criteria - IQ and Numeric ability - Lateral thinking, creative abilities - General knowledge about the advertising and communications business - Career consciousness and commitment - Attitude and Aptitude All completed applications with a Demand Draft of Rs.1,000 in favour of "Northpoint Centre of Learning" must be submitted to Madhavi Chinnabhandar, Northpoint Centre of Learning, 15th Floor, Express Towers, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400 021 before 30th April 2006. Course Fees

The PGPAMC program is a non-residential program. Students will have to make their own arrangements for their stay in Mumbai. The practical on-the-job sessions will be held in Mumbai. The theory sessions will be held at Northpoint, Khandala. For these capsules alone, the program is a residential program. The fees for the entire program is Rs 2,45,000, payable in three installments, as detailed below: - Rs 1,00,000 , on intimation of admission to the course - Rs 75,000 on or before July 15, 2006 - Rs 70,000 on or before December 15, 2006 An additional fee of Rs 5,000 as a refundable library deposit will be taken. The program fee includes boarding and lodging at Countryside Inn, Khandala, all course material, and transportation to and from Khandala to the Lintas offices in Mumbai, as required during the program. The course fee does not include expenses of a personal nature, such as phone calls, laundry bills, personal stationary, etc. Also not included is the cost of board and lodge and conveyance within Mumbai, during the practical sessions. All students will need to equip themselves with their own laptops, since this is an essential requirement of the program. The minimum configuration should be P-III or equivalent, 128 MB RAM, 20 GB hard disk, CD ROM Drive, 56 kbps Modem & 10/100 Mbps Ethernet (both inbuilt), USB PORTS, VGA, P/S 2 with the latest licensed versions of Windows and MS Office loaded on. It will prove invaluable during the practical sessions and project assignments. The course fee needs to be paid by demand draft payable at Mumbai, drawn in favour of "Northpoint Centre of Learning".
