edu Subject: Personal Fact Sheet Explanatory Memo In the composition of my Personal Fact Sheet, I have added the information and tools that I felt would help me best as I continue to pursue my career as an English Educator. One of my goals as an teacher is to ensure that my students have the best resources and knowledge to help them compose effective communication and apply their skills to identify successful conventions of any genre or format. My Personal Fact Sheet will serve as a reminder of all the helpful ways to introduce and analyze composition so that I may share it with my students. Firstly, I started with a section dedicated to revision; the revision process is a crucial part of composition. One of the biggest lessons Ive learned from this course is the importance of revision activities and preparation. Students should value their revision opportunities because of the educational opportunities that begin because of it, including productive feedback and rhetorical analysis. I thought the Paramedic Editing Method was an effective practice for students to use to support changes or choices in their writing. I also chose to add the information concerning the issues of the research paper and the different approaches that can be taken to liven it up. The research paper is in need for a reconsideration concerning its objectives and application. Lastly, I incorporated the literacy knowledge that Ive picked up during this course. After understanding the different roles that literacy plays in the composition process, I feel a deeper connection to my writing. Many students want to be able to relate to what they are learning and I think the Literacy Narrative assignment is a positive way for students to really analyze what has inspired them in terms of reading and writing. As for the information that I did not include, it was a difficult choice. I left out many of the primary research and secondary research methods out of the sheet because I feel like this information contains necessary discussions that would happen with our without my fact sheet. Also, I did not add the benefits of journaling. I have really enjoyed the journaling I have done; however, I feel like this too is something that will be hard to forget considering the methods of sharing information portion of my facts sheet. My fact sheet is very concise and thorough. I wish I could have made it more visually appealing, but I think this sheet will serve its purpose. Sincerely, Teresa BlackCloud
