STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Iam basically a science student with a undergraduate degree in Microbiology with a flair for management, my interest in management opened out only after I started working in our family business, I started realizing that I have the natural ability to be a good manager but, I was scared to continue with this interest of mine and to pursue the graduate MBA degree as I thought that I will not be able to compete with the majority of engineering and business administration graduates but at the same time i was determined to give it a try and wanted to get in a reputed business school to achieve my goal. I started working towards it and attended the management entrance exams, to my surprise I got a reasonably good score in both my CAT and MAT entrances which made me feel on par with the other management students. I also wanted to be technically skilled to be successful as I very well know that technically skilled person with high quality managerial skills is what needed in the rapidly developing high tech industrial sector, so I joined in the NIIT classes and learnt the foundation of computer languages, RDBMS, Web designing ,GUI based softwares etc,. I always perform the assigned task with maximum dedication and performed really well not only in my academics but also in other Extra curricular activities, I was chosen as the cultural secretary of my department and we won the inter-departmental cultural fest, I felt so good that the team I lead was victorious that gave me more confidence in myself and my leadership skills, I also worked as the editor for our department magazine that was widely appreciated and I learnt a lot of things during the process of compilation like the need to be a team player and not to procrastinate anything, I started noticing that people started believing in me and my work that encouraged me a lot and is also a reason to pursue my dream. I wanted to make use of every opportunity given to me so I participated in many intercollegiate dance competitions, Debates, Poster presentations, Extempore and won many prizes and applauds, I got an endowment from my institution for my performance in the practical examination and my knowledge in the subject and was chosen as the best outgoing student in the higher secondary school level. I started working in our family business with literally no interest but it turned out that it is the most interesting part of my life, I started my work as the in-house production manager to take care of all the services to the customer, Quality assessment, Customer satisfaction, Employee salary and satisfaction it is a plastic moulding company that serves for many companies like Amrutanjan, BYD electronics, Flextronics, Titan industries ,ITC Ltd etc,. My view about myself changed and gained a lot of Leadership qualities and techniques to overcome psychological barriers, This degree can make me complete with all the entities of a good manager. Iam a sensible hard worker and can get along well with people around me due to my communication skills. I have the strength and stamina to set a goal and run after it till I achieve it. I would also like to mention about my profession as a Bharathanatyam dancer, I have been learning this art for the past 9 years and performed in many stages and got many awards for my performance. I also think that learning this art adds value to my individuality and makes me a person with lot of strength and confidence.
