Ongpin, Eugenio Geny Lopez, Washington Sycip], (b) a novel that dramatizes ethical and unethical realities of business in the construction industry [Hunyango sa Bato by Abdon Balde Jr], (c) a business ethics book [Ethics for the Real World by Howard & Korver], (d) a book on social enterprise [For the People with the People: Developing Social Enterprises in the Philippines, ed. Ma. Regina Hechanova-Alampay], or (e) a book on morality in globalized business [Good Value by Stephen Green]. (1) Read the whole book. Preferably, read it a second time, and whenever you encounter a striking sentence or paragraph, or whenever you encounter an interesting section, pause and reflect on what you have read. (2) If possible, share with somebody else who has read the book the ideas that you found interesting. (3) Summarize the book, and use your own words for the summary. Whole sentences from the book which have not been placed within quotation marks will be considered instances of plagiarism. Specify the pages where quotations have been taken. (4) The summary should be limited to 1-2 pages only. (5) The summary should be followed by a thinkpiece or critical reflection in which you make use of the concepts and insights from the readings, handouts and lectures in our course. Extra credit will be given to pieces that will have footnotes or endnotes to acknowledge the readings, lectures, or other books as sources of quotations and concepts in the reflection. (6) Write a first draft of your paper and set it aside. After a few days, read your draft, reflect on it, and then improve what needs to be improved for your final text. (7) The book review should be machine-printed font size 12, double-spaced, and 6-8 pages in length.
