EZ-Quant is DCAA Statistical Analysis software for the Windows environment, giving the auditor the tools necessary to perform both attribute and variable sample selection and evaluation. An important added feature, also related to interfacing with Excel, is the ability to export all EZ-Quant outputs as individual spreadsheets to a single workbook. EZ-Quant may be virtually the most sophisticated and available (freeware) available on the market to perform Attribute Sampling and Variables Sampling calculations. This Instruction Manual provides the auditor with a guide to using, operating and downloading this statistical sampling software. Attribute Sampling: Used to determine rate of errors in a given population. Variables Sampling: Used to estimate dollar amounts, such as the extent of unallowable costs included in (for example) the total amount of costs charged to the government. Selecting the Sample: Random selection through EZ-Quant or Excel. Systematic selection choosing a random starting point and then selecting every x item (every 100 th or interval chosen) until all items in the sample are selected. EZ-Quant can be used to prepare sample size estimates for a variety of types of sampling in this guide well discuss three cases (Discovery
