B6 Oxford final sign-off check list

Barrel Check that all bolts and other mechanical fixings are glued in place with loctite (a removable radhard adhesive) Verify that no loose objects are inside the barrel/service cages. Check that all boxes are properly secured and all screws are tight inside the earthing ring. Check that no loose DCS sensor cables are hanging out of their slots. Disconnect fibres, fit each MT12 connector with protective cap and carefully coil fibres in boxes, taking care that nothing is sticking out of the lid. Shorting cards are mounted on TPPs with all connectors properly attached. Check visually that all harnesses are properly insulated from the barrel structure (have kapton at the clamping at the barrel ends). Not done

FSI Cooling

Check all temperature sensors for swaps. If a swap is found the sensors should be swapped in the JST connector on the service cages. Secure all screws on the cooling temperature sensor clips with Loctite. Make sure that the wires to these sensors cannot touch any modules. Glue down if necessary. Publish calibrations for all sensors on barrel on the web. Before shipping check that no FSI ribbon has been damaged on the spools during the assembly. Close of all cooling loops at the end with Metrulok blanking pieces. Should we leave capillaries on? All modules have been electrically tested (incl. HV). Test results are publicly accessible. Check that no module connector is exceeding the envelope of the particular barrel.

Install the ShockLog

Change both batteries and only install at the last moment. It has a 10-day life. Once ShockLog is in place, avoid knocks and bangs around the barrel (e.g. floor).

Done

Install roof panels first.

Someone holds a gloved hand below each corner piece when screw is inserted and tightened in the upper part.

Done

Make sure that all ground straps are properly connected. Secure brass inserts in corner pieces with tape so that they cannot fall into the container. Carry out final visual inspection before service cage ends are closed. Mark one end of inner box with a sign indicating Z (gearbox) end. Wrap inner box After installing inner box in outer, check that inner box rails are fixed into outer box saddles. (Screws should be M6 or bigger). Take care with installation of the outer box panels. These were a difficult fit on B3 and one must avoid shocks to the barrel. Nitrogen system, if used. Needs specification

Removed bottom straps to enable insertion into outer box Secured with glue Done Not done. Gearbox end is coming out last out of outer container. Done Done
