Humanity My Religion PART 1 Hello friends. Ever wonder which God we bow before? What religion we follow?

? Or even more interestingly, WHY we do what we say we do? At this point of time, I'd be getting one word, to the point answers. But has anyone of you ever realized the fact that it is not THESE religions that we follow. In fact, it is something far greater than them. It is a thing which has been induced in such a sublime and subtle manner that it is almost impossible to spot without giving much thought to the subject. Whenever I go in deep thought over this, I am reminded of a few lines by the great H.L. Dietrich, which defines that moment for me. I would like to share these lines with you today. "We are all victims, Anselmo. Our destinies are decided by a cosmic roll of the dice, the winds of the stars, the vagrant breezes of the fortune that blow from the windmills of the gods No matter how defining these lines may be, they still leave much to thought and to these lines I say: "This world was not built with random bricks of chance. A blind God is not destiny's architect. A conscious power has drawn the plan of life. There is a meaning in each curve and line." We may choose to blatantly blame what we do on destiny, fate and God, however, what we do not realize is the fact that we are the masters of our own destiny. Simply because "What we are is God's gift to us. What we become is our gift to God." It is true my friends. Heart breaking and demoralizing as it may sound, but its true. And yes, now you can say that reality sucks and that life is a bitch. PART 2 That being said, I would now like to draw your attention to some of the very well know religions and their fundamental teachings or core values upon which the foundation of that particular religion is based. For your ease, I will talk only about the following: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Jewish, Greek Mythology. At this point of time, avid readers such as you would be wondering why I am considering Greek Mythology as a religion. Well ladies and gentlemen, the journey I am about to take you on will leave you in a questioning state. And when that happens, I beseech you to seek not the answers but to understand the question itself. Nowadays, the debate is hot as to which religion was the best of them all. And by making baseless acclamations we have divided ourselves into factions which have distorted the already murky lines between right and wrong. We have led ourselves to believe that what we do is right and that our holy scriptures and holy Books and the holy teachings are of no use to us anymore since the world has changed so fast.

What we fail to realize is that there is so much more to religion than just following it so rigidly. Even if you take a superficial look at religion any religion for that matter you will find yourself lost in pure awe and amazement at the simplicity and beauty of religion. Ladies and gentlemen, call me a heretic, call me an infidel, call me what you may; but let me tell you something. All the religions which came at their time were the best religions for THAT VERY SPECIFIC TIME PERIOD. Yes ladies and gentlemen, its the fact. All the religions were revealed according to the people, the time and the place thereby making it the perfect religion for that particular phase. Simple example is that Christianity could not have succeeded where Hinduism did and neither could have Jewish faith prevailed where Islam did. Same is the case with other religions and Greek Mythology. Yet all these faiths have a few very basic underlying principles which were taught to man time and time again in one form or another. These include Love for other people Love for peace Promote brotherhood Promote and practice tolerance Honesty Bowing before one supreme god Showing mercy and helping others

All these things I dont just say. Like I mentioned in my last post, there is a meaning in each curve and line. And when I see these above mentioned lines, I cant help but come to the following major conclusions. 1) All religions promote peace, prosperity, tolerance and harmony among people 2) All religions were the best religions for their time 3) All religions tell us to bow before one SUPREME GOD, only the means and channels are different Considering the amount of flack I would be receiving by now, let me clear the last point. Take any religion you want. Pick any random religion out of the blue and start dissecting it. If you read the right scriptures and the relevant information and NOT the distorted or manipulated versions of the religions holy teachings/scriptures, you will find that even though some religions may have many Gods in them, but eventually, they WILL have a supreme deity in front of which other Gods and mortal alike take a bow. The easiest of the examples is Greek Mythology. There were so many Gods in Greek Mythology and yet they still had Zeus as the supreme God in front of whom Gods and men alike bowed. Similarly, moving on to the more modern times, where the number of Gods in most cases reduced, the channels through which the supreme God was worshipped differed. Some believed that they could as the Son of God to help them while others staunchly followed a prophet. Meanwhile others used

mediums such as fire, water, earth, wind, statues carved out of wood and stone to get their prayers across to the supreme one.

PART 3 Continuing from where I last left you all, I would just like to say that using a different medium of praying does not mean that you are following a different religion. God is omnipotent and is found everywhere. The basic thing to realize is that no matter what name you call him by God, Allah, Bhagwan, Khuda His presence is everywhere. All the religions teach one thing. And that one thing is Humanity. No matter what channel you use, no matter to which God or Gods you bow before, no matter how you pray, at the end of the day, it all boils down to just one simple word and that is Humanity. And we abuse this beyond the comprehension of any sane mortal. Therefore my friends, I put no stock in religion. By the word religion I've seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the Will of God. I've seen too much religion in the eyes of too many murderers. Thus, being a believer of Humanity, I am but forced to ponder upon a little something said by Joan D. Vinge which goes as follows. But before I divulge into what it actually says, I hope that you will seek not to know the answers but to understand the question. And now, enjoy a little food for thought. My gods or your gods, who know which are stronger?' That's why we honor them all - just in case. There are more cultures even than Gods in the Eight Worlds, and among them you'll find people who are willing to kill you, or each other, over any difference in belief or lifestyle or physical appearance you can imagine - and some you can't. They all think they're right. There's no Truth, Tammis, only differences of opinion. Best regards, Twistednutzz. Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions. P.s: Dont forget to comment. Positive disapproval is much valued!
