Titan Industries is the world's fifth largest wrist watch manufacturer and India's leading producer of watches.

As a result of joint venture between the Tata Group and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation, the Titan Industries Limited (TIL) was born in the year 1984 and commenced its business in the year 1986. Started as a watch company, Titan Industries' main focus has been to increase the breadth and depth of its portfolio of product offerings. The company has four main business units, such as Watches, Jewellery, Eyewear and Precision Engineered Components. As of 2010, Titan watches account for more than 50% share of the total Indian market and are also sold in about 40 countries through marketing subsidiaries based in London, Aden, Dubai and Singapore. Titan watches are sold in India through retail chains controlled by Titan Industries.

TIME PRODUCTS DIVISION


The Time Products division is where the Titan story began. Today, this division has placed Titan Industries among the worlds largest retail networks and earned the company the place of fifth largest integrated watch manufacturer in the world. With over 5934 employees spread over 3 business units in Bangalore, India, a manufacturing unit at Hosur and 3 assembly plants located in the north of India, the division continues to add world-class brands to the companys portfolio.

Outstanding brands

Our customers have been at the core of this growth and the division offers a slew of products that cater to their inherent needs. Some of the most notable brands in the divisions portfolio are: Titan Edge - the world's slimmest watch (at 3.45mm) that epitomizes the philosophy less is more. Titan Raga - a feminine and opulent accessory for today's affluent woman Nebula - watches crafted with solid 18k gold and precious stones Sonata - India's largest selling watch brand to suite the common man's wallet Xylys - a Swiss-made, impeccably designed watch for the connoisseur and new age achiever Fastrack watches created to accessorise the trendy youth of today The watch division also boasts of collections such as Automatic, Heritage, Nebula, Orion, Raga, Zoop and series like Aviator, Octane and WWF. The brand Titan enjoys a 60% market share in the organised watch market in India.

Retail
The time product division also markets some well-known international brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and FCUK under a licensed agreement, giving the new generation of customers an access to premium brands with their well-equipped retail chain. The division has sold over a million watches through the unique retail format of 'World of Titan' - where both in-house brands & licensed brands are offered - and through a vast network of dealers and lifestyle stores in India and in 27 countries worldwide. The division offers after-sales service network that has been considered a benchmarked operation in the industry. Helios the store is another feather in the divisions cap. These stores are specially designed for the upscale, well-travelled connoisseur with a discerning taste in watches and a highly brand conscious outlook.Spread over a spacious area of 2650 sq ft, the high-end multi-brand watch store houses more than 2200 watches and over 35 premium international watch brands including Versace, Seiko, Movado, Hugo Boss, Citizen, Fossil, Titan, Xylys, DKNY, Roberto Cavalli, Esprit, Tommy Hilfiger, Raymond Weil, Baume & Mercier, and Victorinox, among others.

TITAN
The watch division boasts of over 317 exclusive showrooms christened World of Titan', placing the brand amongst the largest chains in its category backed by over 650 aftersales-service centers. The division has a world-class design studio that constantly invents new trends in wrist watches. From the initial offering of 150 models in 1987, today the supply chain and manufacturing set-up has the capability to handle over 3000 watch variants every year, the fact that depicts the product mix complexity. Today, Titan Industries' watch assembly capacity is about 12 million watches per annum. Titan Industries entered the international watch market with their business endeavour in the Middle East in 1991. UAE, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, South Africa; Singapore, Dubai,
Malaysia, Oman, and Vietnam are some of the major countries where the brand is offered.

With over a hundred million satisfied consumers world over, Titan has successfully established its brand value internationally.

In the domestic market it has its presence at 12,000 multi-brand outlets, 200 large format stores and 240 World of Titan exclusive retails outlets. It has also partnered with Shoppers Stop, Pantaloons, Central, Lifestyle, Westside, Reliance Retail, retail stores of the Aditya Birla group, and many others. Titan has introduced new range watches 'WWF' collection to celebrate 6 endangered species such as Gangetic river dolphin, Whale shark, Red Panda, Indian Rhino and Oliver Ridley Turtle.

The industries have their presence in 27 countries and a customer base of more than 100 million. To date, they have manufactured more than 120 million watches. Brand Titan is going to become more premium. A few years back, the highest price point of Titan used to be Rs6,000; today it is Rs17,000. Sonatas price tags are below Rs1,000; it is the largest volume brand in the country today, selling 5 million watches a year and accounting for 65-70 per cent of Indias watch market. We plan to increase sales of Sonata to about 10 million pieces, at lower price points. Fastrack is Indias best known youth brand and is present today in watches, sun glasses, bags, belts, wallets and wrist bands. Down the road, we would like to be present in virtually every category. We have more than 15 exclusive Fastrack stores in the country today, and we hope to take that number up to 50. The new business lines have made a tremendous difference to Titans balance sheets. Last year, jewellery contributed nearly 65 per cent (Rs27.63 billion) of Titans turnover, making a much larger contribution to revenue than the older watch business (Rs9.08 billion). The rest of Titans business lines eyewear, accessories and precision engineering brought in another Rs1.36 billion, taking the total to Rs38.47 billion.

Titan EYE+ over 100 stores We offer a wide range of products, including frames, lenses, contact lenses,
accessories, etc, in both international (Levis, Esprit, Hugo Boss, etc) and house brands (Titan Eye+ and Dash). We have created world-class optical stores with a unique browse-select-buy format, making the products easily accessible; we offer world-class equipment for zero-error eye testing and qualified optometrists trained at the reputed Sankara Nethralaya. Titan Eye+, the third major venture of consumer business by Titan Industries, launched into the organized eyewear segment in March 2007.

The Titan Eye+ chain leverages the companys retail and design expertise to offer a world-class optical store experience with a range of over 1,000 stylish products to help you look your best. Frames The stores carry frames bearing the brands Titan, Eye+ and Dash (for children) brands. Titan Eye+ stores also sell a host of international brands of frames. Conforming to Titans exacting quality standards. The stores offer warranty of upto one year on Titan products. Lenses In terms of optical lenses, the company offers three brands Essilor, Kodak and Titan lenses. The stores offer a six-month warranty with the Titan brand lenses. Titan Eye+ has recently entered into a technical pact with the renowned Sankara Nethralaya for training of retail & clinic staff. Contact Lenses Titan Eye+ also houses contact lenses from Bausch and Lomb, Johnson & Johnson and Cibavision. Sunglasses For our style conscious customers, Titan Eye+ has a variety of international brands of Sunglasses in addition to Fastrack-a well known brand from Titan Industries Ltd.
