1. INTRODUCTION OF PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY IN INDIA


India has achieved international standards in the production of synthetic Drugs, vitamins, anti-biotic, etc. For the first time in India penicillin hydrogen peroxide DDT etc. Began to be manufacture right from the first five year plan some of the projects were complete. At Hydra bad the synthetic drugs projects which produces Phoenician suspect vitamin B etc has been instated. With a view to project consumers in India government of India issued the drug control order in 1970 imposing certain restriction on the prices of essential life saving drugs

In India production of drugs covers a wide range of bulk synthetic photo Chemicals vitamins biological products etc. The technology adopted for the production of bulk drugs converts intricate and sophisticated fermen- tation technology, synthetic operation & extractive and purification of active principals contained in the plants and animals kingdom. To total demand for bulk drugs and formulation at the end of sixth plan period (i.e. in 1984-85) was estimated at Rs.815 crore and Rs.2450 crores respectively. The actual production was the order of Rs.377 crores in the case of bulk and Rs.1387 crores in the dase of formulation. Althought the production of Bulk drugs and formulation has shown a steady increase during the period of sixth plan.There was short fed in the production mainly because demand did not pick up was anticipated due to the high cost of drugs. There is need to improve R&D to reduce the cost of production of bulk drugs and develop new drugs for combating in the country.there should be closer interaction between the national laboratories and drugs manufacturing unit in order to modernize and update there processes. The objective are achieved self-sufficiently and to make available quality at reasonable prices to the masses of people in the country. Productin Homeopathic and unani should also be encouraged. Most of the machinery required by the India Drug industry is manufactured in the country but during the period of seventh plan efforts will have to be made for providing efficient automatic and high speed equipment for the quality and research and development etc. During the year, the companys domestic branded formulations business grew by 13.40 % and recorded, a sale of Rs.11098 mn from Rs.9790mn in 2006-2007.The company improved its ranking to become the 4th largest pharmaceutical company in India with a Markey share of 3.70 %. During the year, the company launched more than new molecules and over 25line extensions in the domestics formulation of these, 10 were the first launched India. New products contributed about 3%to the domestic branded Formulations sale of company. Introducing a new range of products in the detemutology segment, 10 products were launched by live healthcare, 10 subsiding of cadila Healthcare Ltd.

2. INTRODUCTIN OF ZYDUS CADILA


Looking back, Fifty years ago not much could be solid about the Indian pharmaceutical industry. The country unable to be self-reliant in this field, had to heavily depend on imports for drugs and pharmaceutical. A situation which was turned in to an opportunity by the establishment of cadila. At the time of Indias independence in 1947, our chairman, MR.Ramanbhai B.patel was completing his graduation at the Baroda science college later he joined the him. College of pharmacy, Ahmedabad with the entire nation gearing up to make India self-reliant in all spheres Mr. Patel was determined to contribute his share by turning an entrepreneur and setting up a pharmaceuticals company. Cadila was founded in 1951. Emerging as a modest pharmaceutical company, the company came out with a wide range of innovation products. And with the drawing of the goes grew big enough to have a stronghold in the industry. By then, one of leading pharmaceuticals companies eagilas business policies increased the companys profits enabling it to expand and diversify.

In the complain with the correct Good Manufacturing practices (CGMP), the aim manufacturing facility has a single point of entry through change rooms. The formulation manufacturing facility has separate unit for different dosage forms like tablets and capsues, liquid oral and injection. These units are well connected to the warehouse and other support areas. During the year under review, the company achieved sales of Rs.17191mn, showing a growth of 14.50 % compared to the previous year.

9.LOCTION AND POLLUTION CONTROL


LOCATION:Industrial location is a place where actual production is done which is also called plant location. Usually an industrialist likes to locate at a place where he can get maximum benefits of environment and can minimize cost of production. Zydus cadila located on harkey-bavla, National highway No.8, and village: moriya, Taluka: Sanand, Distict: Ahmedabad- 382210 The groups formulation manufacturing facilities are based at the new state of the art complex at Moraiya located 15kms. from Ahmedabad. Spread over an area of 13600Sq.Mts.The plant is the largest of a kind at a single location. The government of Gujarat has recognized the unit as a prestigious unit. It is getting the major benefit of infrastructural facilities, as Ahmedabad is an urban city. It is getting maximum infrastructural facilities

of roads, transport services; power supply etc.It is getting skilled labour forces at reasonable price. As it is loated on National highway o.8, it can easily transport its product to any state very easily.

POLLUTION CONTROL:As Zydus cadila is a pharmaceutical company, it has to take care of environment because while production process certain harmful chemicals are passed in environment. Correctly Zydus cadila has a big garden where water is recycled and reduced in watering the plants. Effluent treatement plant is located around the plant area. Zydus cadila has a systems in such a way that the air, jerms and dust can not enter from the doors when over it opens. They have set meters that prohibit the air and create such an air pressure. On the other hands, they also take care of the products supplied in the market. After the product reach to its expiry date they gather all expiry dated medicines and destroy them. They also take care of the health of their consumer and the social environment where they work.

2.WARE HOUSING
Storing of packing material and raw material is done here .it is employed by a steakermachine which is operated by a single person for carring purpose of a clertor of 2000kg capacity. Here raw material is checked by material visual method. In the warehousing two parts of this department Packing Raw material Here, there two type of manufacturing material (1)PRIMARY MANUFACTURING MATERIAL Primary manufacturing materials used for strips, drysters and bottles. (2)SECONDARY MANUFACTURING MATERIAL Secondary manufacturing material used for boxes, art No., No. of size is labeled here only. Warehousing include one computer room from where people of warehousing get on line date about packing.

In the warehousing was center pharmacy department include. This center pharmacy department air look production on this room. All material manufacturing packing received P.P.M.C, M.C.D.etc. First yellow label are stitched on different pacing boxes. There are two type of label used for rejection and accept ion. Here, green label used for acceptance of packing boxes and Red label used for rejection of pacing box. After rejection goods are sent back to party.Here, one separate area of rejection. The main thing is the warehousing department area 1.5 kms.

3.TABLET MANUFACTURING
GRAMULATION AREA :Gramulation means mixing, grinding and drying of different gramules and forming drugs. Whole gramulation process is done in first three machine i.e.mixture, gringer and dryer. This all are Indian Machines, Zydus has two sets of this machines in two opposite room. Set-1 has capacity of 15 tonns while another machine has capacity of 100kg. After gramulation period different procedures are done, drug to from saleable tablets that is size reduction by compression, coating and polishing and packing. After druging is done, drugs goes into latest technology high speed compressor which has capacity to compress 5 lakh tablets per hour, then tablets goes into coating or polishing machine. Some kind of tablets needs coating and some kind of polishing. This machine has capacity of coating 1500tablets per hour.

PACKING SECTOR :-

After tablets manufacturing it need packing. In the tablet packing sector are 12 lines in machine packing. There are 3 type of packing. (1)Blister packing (2) Strip packing (3)Alu Alu packing

4.POTENTIAL MANUFACTURING
This area is stral area or inject able so an entering this room. This zone to divided in to different zones according to different products. Gray zone White zone Black zone As in all department procedure done. In this divided in different stages:(1)WASHING DEPARTMENT The process for making injection are started with washing there bottles are washed in same way as done in oral liquid manufacturing department. Bottle is washed 3 times i.e. Cold-Hot respectively with water. (2)DRY ZONES After get washed bottles are wet, hance they are dried. (3)HEATING ZONE Heating zone has two stages i.e. heating and sterilization.

(A)HEATING:Here, bottles are heated at 100 c to kill some micro organisms. (B)STERILIZATION:Here, Bottles are started sterilized at 350 c and it kills all micro Organisms presentable earlier in bottle. (4)COLLING ZONE Here, Bottles get cooled from tempreture at 30 c. (5)FILLING After bottles get cooled they are filled now drugs oar liquid. (6)SEALING After Bottles are filled they are sealed by machines.

(7)VISIUAL INSPECTION After Bottles are sealed they are manually inspected and if any bed particles or micro organisms seen then bottles are rejected and otherwise approved. (8)PACKING Firstly Bottles are packed into small box which contains 16 glisters and small boxes are packed in to big box which contains 16 x 6 glister.Hence, it contains 96 glisters

5.LIQUID ORAL DEPARTMENT


In the Liquid oral department is included bottles washing area sugar changing room etc.There are several stages in oral liquid manufacturing process which is as under. (1)Washing Bottles (2)Inspection of Bottles (3)Filling (4)Sealing (5)Manual Visual Checking (6) Labeling packing (7)Packing in Big-Boxes (1)WASHING BOTTLES Here, Bottles are washed with totally auto wash machine. This machine washed 20 bottles at a time. A machine washes a single bottle three times cold, cold and Hot water with respectively from all the sides of bottles. (2)INSPECTION BOTTLES After washing bottles, they are manually inspected and if some bad particles or micro organisms are seen bottle is rejected otherwise accepted.

(3)FILLING There are two ways to fill up a bottle i.e.Volumatric and Vocumatric.Here, work is done with help of 12 head auto filling machine with volumetric method. (4)MANUALLY VISUAL CHECKING Here, quid is checked visually whether it is free micro organisms and bad particles or not. If any useless thing like this is seen whole bottle is rejected. In case of oral liquid they also checks volume. (5)SEALING Here, sealing is done with help of 8 head auto sealing machine.

(6)LABELLING Labelling is done by auto labeling machine. (7)PACKING IN BIG BOXES After forming saleable bottles filled with group 36 bottles are kept in one big box and each bottle contains 200 ml liquid.

6.SOFT CAPSUL DEPARTMENT


The following process is done to produces this capsules as under. (1)Galuntine preparation (2)Filling (3)Drying (4)Inspection (5)Packing (1)GALUNTINE PREPARATION In Soft capsul out shells area is prepare by machine in company only. This machine capacity is 500 it. The galutine making by hot water and 60 to 70 degree temperature. This Indian machine has capacity to produce 450000 out side from 1 kg. raw material. (2)FELLING Different drug are filled in soft shells by this machine. This is made by Indian machine. (3)DRYING After filling capsul now it is kept drying and then it capsul is facilitate to A.C strorage.This A.C.strorage temperature below 25 degree & heading is

35 degree.Hence, this capsul as 48 hour doing standerlized.Dryer has capacity to work 25 hours a week. (4) INSPACTION CAPSULE After drying and filling is visual inspection is done. There are many problems in the capsul such as less capsul D shape capsul etc. Possible type of rejection in capsul: -Empty packet -Improper cutting (cut packet) -Roll joint

(5)PACKING Lastly, has packing is done by three methods. (A) BLISTER PACKING Blister packing is imported of tablet packing (B)STRIP PACKING The Zydus cadila has also traditional strip packing. In small companies, this type of packing is used. (C)ALU ALU PACKING Alu Alu packing of cadila group or our country use because this packing is macking on aluminum not a plastic or any materials.

3.PERFORMANCE
The management of zydus cadila is selects the personnel according to the framework of the company training of the personnel are done for skill development and training is also conducted for those personnel who are newly appointed.
