Vocabularies and Legal Principles Vocabularies 1- Reimburse (V) to pay money back to sb

Ex: The Company will reimburse you in full for your traveling expense. 2- Compliance (N) Compliant (Adj) with sth: working or done in agreement with particular rule, orders, etc. Ex: All new products must be compliant with EU specifications. 3- Derive (V) derive sth, from sth to get sth (especially a feeling or an advantage from sth) : (Used about a name or a word) to come from sth; to have sth as its origin Ex: I derive great satisfaction from my work. The town derives its name from the river on which it was built. 4- Adjourn (V) to stop a meeting, trial etc. for a short time and start it again later. Ex: The meeting adjourned for lunch. The trial was adjourned until the following week. Adjournment (N) 5- Summon (V) to order a person to come to a place : Summon sth up; to find strength, courage or some other quality that you need even though it is difficult to do so. Ex: The boys were summoned to the head teachers office. She could not summon up the courage to leave him. 6- Withdraw (V) withdraw sb/sth; from sth To move or order sb; to move back or away from a place. Ex: The troops withdrew from the town. : To remove sth or take sth away. : To withdraw an offer/ statement. : To take money out of a bank account; opposite Deposit Ex: How much would you like to withdraw? : To decide not to take part from the race at the last time. 7- Lapse (V) (Used about a contract or an agreement) to finish, stop, often by accident : To become weaker or stop for a short time. Legal Principles
1- Article 137 of Cambodian Labor Law In all establishments of any nature, whether they provide vocational training, or they are of a charitable nature or liberal profession, the number of hours worked by workers of either sex cannot exceed eight hours per day, or 48 hours per week. The Interpretation of Arbitration Council: Article 137 of the Labor Law above means that workers normal work hours should not exceed eight hours per day or 48 hours per week. The work performed by the workers on Sundays, which exceed normal working hours, is considered as Overtime Work. 2- Article 139 of the Cambodian Labor Law If worker are required to work overtime for exceptional and urgent jobs, the overtime hours shall be paid at a rate of fifty percent higher than normal hours. If the overtime hours are worked at night or during weekly time off, the rate of increase shall be one hundred percent. 3- Article 67, paragraph 2 of Cambodian Labor Law The Labor contract signed with consent for a specific duration cannot be for a period longer than two years. It can be renewed one or more times, as long as the renewal does not surpass the maximum duration of two years. Any violation of this rule leads the contract to become a labor contract of undetermined duration. 4- Article 73, paragraph 5 of Cambodian Labor Law If the Contract has duration of more than six months, the workers must be informed of the expiration of the contract or of its non-renewal ten days in advance. This notice period is extended to fifteen days for contracts that have duration of more than one year. If there is no prior notice, the contract shall be extended for a length of time equal to its initial duration or deemed as a contract of unspecified duration if its total length exceeds the time limit specified in Article 67.
