Interdependence of Living Things

PURPOSE
Observing the events of the interdependence of living things Observing the changes that occur in the event of interdependence. Knowing the factors that occur in the event of interdependence.

THEORICAL BACKGROUND
No living thing that can meet the needs of his own life, including humans. These relationships need each other to create something unique. The special relationship between living things is called symbiosis. Symbiosis may be divided into three, namely symbiosis mutualism, symbiosis parasitism, and symbiosis komensalism. 1. Symbiosis mutualism Symbiosis mutualism is the relationship between two living things that are mutually beneficial. For example, the symbiosis between a bull with starlings. 2. Symbiosis parasitism Parasitism is a symbiotic relationship between two living beings who lead the one to benefit, while other living things suffered losses. For example, the relationship between the parasites of citrus, flowers raflesia with its host, and lice in animals in which he lived. 3. Symbiosis komensallism Komensalism symbiosis is the relationship between two living things that benefit one part, but do not harm others. Symbiosis komensalism seen between shark with remora fish. Environment there are two kinds of environmental biotic and abiotic environment. Biotic environment is an environment that consist of living beings. Abiotic environment is an environment composed of inanimate objects. living things depend on their environment. The relationship between living beings and the environment will form the ecosystem. So if we call the ecosystem of river, then it means that in it there is fish, plants, water, plankton, sunlight, and air. However, if we call river community, then there is only fish, plant and

plankton, without involving water, sunlight and air. The food chain will not be interrupted long as all links available. This can lead to starvation because grass is available is not sufficient. Thus, any environmental changes affect the continuity of life.

TOOLS AND MATERIALS

METHODE

Filling into 4 test tubes with water pools up to 2 / 3 tube and labeled I, II, III and IV. Provides 5-10 drops of BB solution to each tube. In the first test tube put two Cere fish. In the second tube insert a rod plant Hydrilla verticillat a

RESULT AND DISCUSSION


A. Result

After 2-3 hours Both of Cere fish die

After 24 hours Both of Cere fish die and the color of solution become yellow.

Theres no change. The solution color still blue

The color of solution still blue There are yellow-green color on the bottom of tube and the Cere fish that die become yellow

Big Cere Fish die but the small one still alive

B. Discussion

First tube (+Cere fish) Cere dont have oxygen. Indicator color yellow, cere fish dead, this suggests that there is no process of photosynthesis so that fish can not take O2 that is only the process of respiration produced by the fish. Second tube (+Hydrilla plant) Hydrilla produce oxygen because of photosynthesis. Color indicator remains blue because of high levels of O2 and low CO2. This is because hydrilla photosynthesize produce O2 and need CO2. Hydrilla wilt, this suggests that respiration occurs slightly. Third tube (+Cere fish+Hydrilla plant) Cere and Hydrilla get interdependence. Yellow indicator color was shown that the acidic pH of the water. This is caused, the dead cere fish invite the presence of the bacteria to do the decomposition, so that the liquid in the tube became turbid and acid. fish should stay alive because there is Hydrilla are producing O2. Fourth tube Control variable. Is only used as a control.

SUPLEMENT
1. What is use BB solution? BB solution (Bromtimol Blue) serves as an indicator of the pH of water in tube. 2. What is the use IV tube as a control? Due to the IV tube contained no aquatic animals and plants, so it can be considered and made in the variable dick for comparison, with the other tube. 3. Why aquatic animals in a test tube III is more than an animal can survive in water solution II? Tube III funds available for the fish as a pet water and hydrilla, so they can help each other. Fish can obtain oxygen and food from the hydrilla, which is plants, and hydrilla can obtain carbon dioxide for photosynthesis that result ffrom respiraton of fish. Whereas in fund II only hydrilla so it is not happening does not fulfill their interdependencies and reciprocity. 4. Why the four tubes in place in the light? That hydrilla is located in the tube can perform photosynthesis with maximum so as too serve the dependence between the hydrilla to fish with a maximum too. All four of them in place at same place, so buffer was observed in comparison. the

CONCLUSION
BB solution (Bromtimol Blue) serves as an indicator of the pH of water in the tube. Every living thing in a life ecosystem interdependent with other living beings or the environment. Disturbances in one component in an ecosystem will cause other components or even entire components of the ecosystem is disrupted. Water in the tube initially had a neutral pH as indicated by the color indicator BB in the water.
