The Yes!

Camp Youth Camp for Higher Achiev ement

At Success on Track, we believe that children are the hope and future of our society. We believe we can do much in the formation of these beautiful individuals through our camps. We have been organizing school holiday camps since 2004. The skills and values learned and relationships fostered at camps are often life-changing stepping stones on the road to adulthood.

At The Yes! Camp we celebrate diversity and promote teamwork and acceptance. We help our participants understand that regardless of their color, gender or socio-economic circumstances, they are wonderful and beautiful people and they can and should be contributing members of society.

WHAT OUR PAST PARTICIPANTS SAY:

"What I have learnt from the YES! Camp and am able to apply it to my daily life is to never give up in whatever I do" (Vigneswari Michael, SMK Convent Sentul, KL) "I enjoyed and savoured every moment of the camp. Every activity continues to amaze me because I realised I could do things I never thought I could do. It also taught me that teamwork and never givingup will help us succeed. and work things out on our own and that helped us learn better." Camp, I can apply to my daily life, especially to appreciate what we have." (Jonathan Christopher De Sousa, SMK Batu 8, PJ) "Its about being a good leader and YES! WE CAN!" A note about our training Methodology It's an age when today's college-leaver can expect to change careers five or six times during his lifetime careers not just jobs. That's why learning how to learn is more important than what we learn especially when what we learn can become so quickly outdated

Learning is a lifelong adventure. It should begin earlier than the child's first day at school and continue far beyond the graduation ceremony. We live in an age when the only constant is change. To master accelerated change, therefore, requires Accelerated Learning.

There are 8 types of intelligence: interpersonal, intrapersonal, logical-mathematical, verbal-linguistic, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical-rhythmic and naturalist.

In the traditional classroom environment, the verbal-linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligences are often over represented. Accelerated learning attempts to redress this imbalance by including activities which allow for the activation of the other intelligences such as: games which involve movement, use of colour on worksheets/mind maps etc, use of songs, raps and music, manipulation of objects (word cards, toys, etc.) and so on.

At our camps, we avoid traditional classrooms style of giving out notes and lesson plans.

Instead, we give students an experience or activity that demonstrates the lesson. We create a need to know. An experience (game / activity) creates curiosity and emotional engagement. It allows students to tap into prior knowledge and make connections, adding meaning and relevance to the content.

We then drop the "data" in at the moment of peak interest and discuss its relevance to students' lives. Explaining the lesson after the experience (game) capitalizes on the student's natural desire to label, sequence and define new learning.

Learning and motivation is like bathing, it needs to be done frequently. A wise man once said "Repetition is the mother of skill".

By continuous participation in camps and other personal-development activities, we enhance our childrens exposure to important information multiple times in a variety of different avenues so the information really sticks, and changes can happen gradually.

Every camp is a new learning experience. Every camp incorporates new games teaching life-long universal values, giving them opportunity to learn powerful lessons in community, character-building, skill development, and healthy living in a meaningful, engaged, and participatory environment
