CONFINED SPACE SAFETY ASSESSORS COURSE

(MANDATORY & COMPULSORY FOR ALL CONFINED SPACE ASSESSORS) Under the WSH (Confined Spaces) Regulations 2009, confined space means any chamber, tank, manhole, vat, silo, pit, pipe, flue or other enclosed space, in which dangerous gases, vapours or fumes are liable to be present to such an extent as to involve a risk of fire or explosion, TARGET AUDIENCE - Confined space gas testers, confined space assessors and person checking and certifying safe entry of workers into confined spaces (including manholes) to perform assigned work. Anyone certifying a confined space must first be trained in Confined Space Safety Assessors Course. SCAL is the Accredited Training Provider approved by the Ministry of Manpower for the Confined Space Safety Assessors Course. Followings are the course details: DURATION : 36 Hours Lectures (Theory + Practical) + 3 Hours Assessment (Notes: Participants must bring along safety boots / safety shoes for the practical lesson throughout the duration of the course.) MINIMUM ENTRY QUALIFICATION Participants must have the followings: (i) At least GCE 'O' Level Grade C6 & above for English, Maths & Science OR (ii) ESS WPLN 5 OR 'N Level English and Maths Grade 5 WITH WSH Skills & Knowledge equivalent to Certificate in WSH OR (iii) ESS WPLN 5 OR 'N Level English and Maths Grade 5 WITH 3 years of relevant working experience in operations and coordination of safety work (Proof of experience must be submitted together with application) OR (iv) NTC2 in Chemical Processing OR (v) Attended Bridging Course for Confined Space Safety Assessors Course CERTIFICATION Only participants with 75% or higher attendance will be eligible to sit for the examination. Certificate will be awarded to participants who successfully complete the course and pass the examination. Skills Development Fund (SDF) Company sponsored trainees who are Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident are eligible for SDF funding. To be eligible for the funding, companies are required to enroll their trainees through the SkillsConnect system. Please note that SCAL Academy reserves the right to restrict this course to participants with suitable and relevant qualification and experience. Cancellation / Change of Course Date A notice of cancellation must be given at least 3 working days before commencement of the course and 50% of course fee will be refunded. If notice is given less than 3 working days before the first day of the course, there will be no refund / course fees will be charged accordingly. SCAL reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to unforeseen circumstances. All dates shown are subject to final confirmation. Replacement / Postponement A notice of replacement / postponement together with the full particulars of the new participant (for replacement) must be given to us AT LEAST 3 working days before the course commencement. A charge of S$10 (replacement) or S$30 (postponement) will be imposed on such changes.
