ANTRIEB ACTUATORS

Description
Antrieb 'DC' Type..MF Electro Mechanical actuators are specially designed for operating various types of valves, dampers, penstocks, etc.... They are used in various industries such as power, paper, water / sewage, cement, chemical, etc... With the advancement of technology it has been noticed that, the actuators have to be operated locally during commissioning /emergency operations. To facilitate such a use, actuators are now being manufacture with locally available compact control (Integral starters) which can be operated either locally or from remote (DCS). Antrieb actuators with compact control have IP68 enclosures certified by CPRI Bangalore. The basic design of Antrieb actuators with compact control consist of two modules i.e.

Front Cover:The front cover consists of Push buttons for open-close-stop, Lockable selector switch for Localoff-remote, The lockable Selector switch can be locked in any position by padlock to prevent unauthorised operation. Sight glass for viewing local indication power on, open, close. The Front cover hood protects the switches from weather / damage. The Electronic Compact control consists of a) Reversing contactors b) Over load relay c) Transformers d) Fuses on primary and secondary e) Push button switches for open, stop, close f) Lockable selector switch for local-off-remote g) Lamps for power on, open, close Indication. h) 24V DC power source...Rectifier i) Micro Controller Electronic card :- E-Card

Compact Housing:The Compact housing encloses 1. common base plate assembly cpl. which is mounted on a with drawable chassis for easy maintenance and online checking. 2. Terminal blocks, 3. Plug & socket connectors, 4. Cable gland entries for incoming and out going cables.

End Cover:The end cover is available in 2 types 1. End cover (Terminal assembly) 2. End cover (Plug & socket assembly)

Micro Controller Electronic Card

The E-Card is a micro controller based system designed to provided complete flexibility for your control systems. It provides complete integrity of inputs and outputs to ensure fast and reliable operations of Antrieb 'DC' Type ......MF actuators. The logic control system has the following protection features and control features.

The Compact Control module consists of Front cover, Compact housing, End cover, Base plate assemb ly, Plug & Socket etc The Compact Control module is connected to the Actuator module via plug & socket connecters, enabling easy assembly / dis -assembly during servicing. Protection Features
OPTO ISOLATORS All control inputs to the E -Card is opto isolated to protect the system from high voltage transients in the inputs. AUTO PHASE CORRECTION

Control Features
MAINTAINED / NON-MAINTAINED The E-Card provides two different modes of operations Maintained and non-Maintained for both Local and Remote selectable through Dip switch. OPEN / CLOSE INTERLOCK (OPTIONAL) Open/close interlock control signal allows to shutdown the Antrieb actuators from remote despites the actuators in local/remote mode. This feature can be ignoring using a selectable dip switch. MOTOR THERMOSTAT BYPASSED The E -Card has provision to bypass thermostat through programmable dip switch enabling operation of the Antrieb Actuators even after the thermostat trip VALVE JAMMED IN MID TRAVEL INDICATION The E -Card has provision for valve jammed in mid travel through the Monitoring relay, when the close limit switch is bypassed.

The E-Card monitors the phase sequence change and always operates the Antrieb actuators in the same direction for open, and close as designed through out its life period. The E-Card can detect for single phase fail during operation and prevents the Actuator from motoring .

SINGLE PHASING PROTECTION

ANTI-HAMMER PROTECTION The E-Card monitors the torque switches and de-energize the contactors when operated. Further it prevents motoring in the same direction even when continuous open/close signal is present until fresh or reverse command is executed. During jammed valve condition E-Card prevents motoring the actuator for a pre selected delay setting during initial opening. The delay time is set through Dip Switch No. 6, 7, 8 (Refer Table in CC O&M Catalogue No.ATPL-MF-CC-004) INSTANTANEOUS REVERSAL The E-Card enables instantaneous reversal of the Antrieb actuators without operating the stop switch with a pre defined delay of 100ms

24V DC HEALTHY INDICATION

The healthy status of internal 24V DC supply for the E-Card can be indicated through a LED glow. INTRAVEL INDICATION The running status of Antrieb actuator either close/open is indicated through a continuous blink of an LED, and steady glow for an end position. OPEN TORQUE BYPASS E-Card bypasses open torque switch for 3 seconds from the instant open command is executed to accommodate approximate 5% open torque bypass feature. DIP SWITCH DETAILS 1. ON - Local Non-Maintained OFF - Local Maintained 2. ON - Remote Non-Maintained OFF - Remote Maintained 3. ON - Motor Thermostat Override OFF - Motor Thermostat Input Accept 4. ON - Open/Close Interlock Switch Override OFF - Open/Close Interlock Switch Input Accept 5. ON - Close Torque Switch Ignores Close End Limit Switch OFF - Both Close End Limit Switch and Close Torque Switch In Operation 6, 7, 8 - Jammed Valve Delay A delay of 5-40 seconds can be achieved during valve jammed condition. (Refer Table in CC O&M Catalogue No.ATPL-MF-CC-002) This facility is provided simple onsite change function.

The E-Card monitors the inbuilt thermostat of Antrieb actuator motor and prevents motoring the actuator when motor gets over heated.

MONITORING RELAY

The abnormality hindering Antrieb actuators functionality is detected and intimated by de-energizing a monitor relay providing a remote indication . The E -Card has provision for direct open, Close, Stop command for remote operation.

INTERPOSING RELAY

OPTIONAL-The External 24VDC can also be fed through the separate interposing relays for open, Close, Stop command for Remote operation. The E-Card de-energise the contactors when the Antrieb actuator motor draws over load current.

Diagnostic Module
A smart handheld diagnostic module is available with a 'D' sub connector to plug in with the E-Card for fault annunciation. The complete status and the error codes are displayed through the Liquid Crystal Display unit leading the operator with enhanced error diagnostic methodology. 3
