IETE IS STARTING DUAL DEGREE, DUAL DIPLOMA & INTEGRATED PROGRAMS FROM DECEMBER 2011

ADVANTAGES AND SALIENT FEATURES OF DUAL & INTEGRATED PROGRAMS

Dual Degree and integrated Programs saves time and money for students as compared to the option of pursuing two programs individually. Dual Degree and integrated Programs give a student the option of working in different areas and is more marketable. Students are inducted first for diploma level, but with some extended period can pursue Graduate Level also. IETE helps students to fulfill their ambitions by giving them opportunities to pursue Dual and integrated Programs.

DUAL DEGREE
RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR DUAL DEGREE PROGRAM Dual program will come into effect from Dec 2011 examinations for the new scheme/syllabus only. On completion of the course, the student will be awarded separate certificates for each of the streams he/she has enrolled. First degree will be awarded only after the completion of 04 years for AMIETE. The student can enroll for dual program in the beginning itself or at any time before completing the first program. The enrollment fee for dual program will be 1.5 times of the single program. Student may transfer back to the single program at any time he/she chooses. A students initial application in no way constrains this choice. In such cases no refund of fee is permitted. The eligibility criteria for examination and rules for the first program will be same as that is followed for the individual stream/program of IETE. The student has to specify his/her choice of the first program. Exemptions of subjects/ courses are automatic when the courses are common between the two programs and student need not apply to seek exemptions. Two Dual degree Programs are offered in IETE:

i.

A student of dual degree AMIETE (CS) & AMIETE (IT) program can obtain both degrees in five years instead of eight years. 16 subjects, 06 electives, a course on communication skills & technical writing and 03 labs are common for AMIETE (CS) & AMIETE (IT) program. Details available in the course curriculum programs of AMIETE (CS) & AMIETE (IT). The remaining 04 subjects (including electives), 01 Lab, Seminar and Project work are different for AMIETE (CS) & AMIETE (IT) program.

A student of dual degree AMIETE (ET) & AMIETE (CS/IT) program can obtain both degrees in six years instead of eight years. 08 subjects, 01 elective and a course on Communication Skills & Technical Writing are common for AMIETE (ET) & AMIETE (CS/IT). In addition, one elective of ET is common with one core subject of CS/IT. Details available in

the course curriculum programs of AMIETE (ET) & AMIETE (CS/IT).

The remaining 12 subjects (including electives), 04 Labs, Seminar and Project work are different for AMIETE (ET) & AMIETE (CS/IT) program.

INTEGRATED PROGRAMME
RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR INTEGRATED PROGRAM Integrated program will come into effect from Dec 2011 examinations for the new scheme/syllabus only. DipIETE will be the first and AMIETE will be the second program. On completion of the integrated program, the student will be awarded separate certificates. Diploma will be awarded only after the completion of 03 years and AMIETE at the end of 6th year. The student can enroll for integrated program in the beginning itself or at any time before completing the first program. The enrollment fee for integrated program will be 1.5 times of the single program. Student may go back to the single program at any time he/she chooses. A students initial application in no way constrains this choice. In such cases no refund of fee is permitted. The eligibility criteria for examination and rules for the first program will be same as that is followed for the individual stream/program of IETE. A student can complete the integrated programme of DipIETE(ET) &AMIETE(ET) in six years. A student can complete the integrated programme of DipIETE(CS) and AMIETE(CS) in six years. Exemptions in not more than 03 subjects and 01 lab are given. For the integrated programme in DipIETE(ET) and AMIETE(ET), exemption in AE55, AE60, AE61 (provided the student has studied control Engg in diploma) and course on communication skills & technical writing, AE91 are given. For the integrated programme in Di[IETE(CS) and AMIETE(CS), exemption in AC52, AC58, AC63 (provided the student has studied control Software Engg in diploma) and course on communication skills & technical writing ,AC92 are given.
