Connie Akridge, Esq., State Bar of Nevada President

IMAGINE WHAT YOU CAN DO AS A SECTION MEMBER!

We want and need your time, talent and ideas to ensure that the bars sections continue to thrive and develop for the benefit of all Nevada attorneys.
Happy 2012! This is your year to join a State Bar of Nevada (SBN) section or committee! Imagine the opportunities available to you with section involvement. Always wanted to plan a continuing legal education program, work on an amicus curiae brief, create a publication, draft proposed legislation or get to know your colleagues in your practice area? Then add becoming involved or more involved in the work of a bar section to your list of New Years resolutions. We want and need your time, talent and ideas to ensure that the bars sections continue to thrive and develop for the benefit of all Nevada attorneys. We are not only increasing our recruitment of members to join the bars effort, but we will soon be asking you to complete a survey about how our sections are operating. We want to know how SBN sections can better serve you and how you want to become involved in section work. We will be asking you about your experience with being a member of a bar section, and we will want to know how a section has assisted you or could better assist you in your practice with a CLE program, publication, legislative activity or other activity. We will inquire about activities in which you would like to see a section engaged and in which you would like to participate. If you are not already a member of a section we will inquire as to what section you would be interested in joining. When you receive the survey, please take the time to respond and share your thoughts with us. We sincerely value your input. The bars Programs and Services Manager, Lori Wolk, is the staff person at the bar who does a great job of coordinating section activity and she is knowledgeable about all section issues. Below is the exciting variety of sections from which you may choose: Administrative Law Chair: John Griffin. Focus: Administrative law and procedure at both the state and federal levels.
