Expansion into Houston
Darling Homes was established through-
out the North Texas market when the
company was approached by the develop-
ers of The Woodlands about building in
the Houston area.
In 1998, the firm built in a community
just north of Houston and today it has
more than 20 communities in the area.
Newman Village
In 2007, the company says it took on the
development of an entire community
when it began construction of Newman
Village in Frisco, Texas. Darling Homes
says the community is designed to meet
the needs of the selective homebuyer, and
it will have nature, community and arts
for its residents.
“We’re looking forward to the new ad-
venture of Newman Village, and we plan
to apply our homebuilding philosophy to

creating a community unlike any other,”
Bill Darling adds.
Darling Homes is joining six other cus-
tom homebuilders to build 553 homes
on 300 acres that range in price from
$450,000 to more than $2 million. First
settled in 1841 by John Lenox Newman
just five years after the battle at the Alamo,
the land has remained in the Newman
family for several generations, according
to Darling Homes.
“Intent on overseeing the details that
continue to make this land special, the
Darling family and the Newman family
have worked in close collaboration to
bring Newman Village to life,” Darling
Homes says. “The development will raise
the bar for upscale living in North Texas
and create a new sense of community to
those who make Newman Village their
permanent address.”
Montgomery Farm
Montgomery Farm is a new environmen-
tally conscious community located just
outside of downtown Dallas. The com-
munity is located on 500 acres bordering
Plano and Allen, Texas, and has trails that
connect residents to school, work, shop-
ping and recreation.
Darling Homes offers its American
Classic Collection of homes in Montgom-
ery Farms, which includes vintage archi-
tecture, large, covered porches, classic fix-
tures and touches that create a warm, in-
viting atmosphere, according to the com-
pany. Square footage of the homes ranges
from 2,000 to 3,600 square feet and prices
start around $300,000.
Also under construction is a class A
office complex designed for platinum
LEED certification, which will make it
one of the few office complexes in the
United States capable of receiving the
highest rating available from the U.S.
Green Building Council.
According to Montgomery Farm, the
Angel Field Center will be strategically
placed to afford a dramatic setting for
more than 160,000 square feet of office
suites. “Stone and glass buildings con-
nected by trellised walkways will sur-
round a landscaped plaza, featuring a 25-
foot-high shade arbor, water features and
expanses of native grasses,” Montgomery
Farm adds. ■
