INTRODUCTION
In order to prepare a quality fabric it is necessary to remove the natural and man-made impurities present in the greige fabric. In case of cotton knitted fabrics, the soil to be removed comprises natural impurities like fats, waxes, pectins mineral matter etc. as well as added impurities (lubricants) used in spinning the yarn. The total impurities comprises 10- 20% in the greige fabric. Achieving good absorbency necessitates the thorough removal of cotton wax, which is located mainly on the fibre surface, forming a very thin layer that prevents adequate wetting of the fibre surface. A successful pretreatment process requires that the textile be readily wettable by aqueous systems not only at the start of the pretreatment but also possess good hydrophilicity at the end of the pretreatment. Therefore the preparation must employ an auxiliary that assist in wetting the fabric, emulsification of the fatty substances and dispersion of other substances. Matclean AFD liquid is an economical detergent for all types of fibres. It has an emulsifying and dispersing action that imparts not only good wettability to the textile material at the start of the pretreatment but also good hydrophilicity at the end of the pretreatment. This good hydrophilicity leads to the good absorbency needed for the dyeing process.

SAMPLE RECIPE
Scouring 0.5 - 1.0 g/l 1.0 - 2.0 g/l 0.5 - 1.0 g/l 0.5 - 1.5 g/l 3.0 - 5.0 ml/l Matquest US liquid Matlube CA liquid Matclean OSR liquid Matclean AFD liquid Caustic soda 36 B Add chemicals preferably at 40 C Heat to 98 C. Treat for 30 minutes at 98 Drain. C.

Scouring and Peroxide bleach 0.5 - 1.0 g/l Matquest US liquid 1.0 - 2.0 g/l Matlube CA liquid 0.5 - 1.0 g/l Matclean OSR liquid 0.5 - 1.5 g/l Matclean AFD liquid Add chemicals preferably at 40 C Heat to 60 and add C 3.0 - 5.0 ml/l Caustic soda 36 B 0.3 - 0.6 g/l Matstab SIF liquid 3.0 - 6.0 ml/l Hydrogen peroxide 35% 0.3 - 0.5 g/l Antifoam MX (if required) Treat at the boil for 4560 mins. Cool to 70 Drain. C. Rinse cold for 15-20 minutes Hot Wash for 15-20 minutes at 80 C. Rinse cold for 15-20 minutes. Drain. Raise the temperature to 60 C. 0.5 - 1.0 g/l Matzyme VHK-L liquid Treat at 60 for 20 mins. C Rinse cold for 10-15 minutes. Drain.

PRODUCT SAFETY, HANDLING & STORAGE

Customers considering the use of this product must read the following instructions before using the product :
Prevention Use PPE : Wear hand gloves, protective clothing, safety goggles, face mask. Response IF SWALLOWED : Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. IF ON SKIN : Wash with plenty of soap and water. IF INHALED : Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. IF IN EYES ; Flush eyes with plenty of water for atleast 15 minutes. IF ON CLOTHING : Rinse immediately contaminated clothing and skin with plenty of water before removing clothes. Storage Store in a cool, dry & ventilated area away from the sources of heat or ignition. Disposal Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local regulation.
