The Application of Network Video Conference System in Network of Teaching and


Research

Abstract-Epoch requires talented person, it dedicates to
training qualifed personnel necessary for teachers. The
development of information technology promotes social
development, teachers also need to update their knowledge
constantly, thus promote their professional development. This
articles based on the content of network video conference
system, analysis of the basis of web video conferencing system
to achieve network of teaching and research. Initially
construct the model of network of teaching and research. In
addition, as remote interactive teaching and research activities
between Guangdong and Zhejiang for an example, analysis of
the application results of remote interactive learning platform
in a network of teaching and research.

I. INTRODUCTION
Along with the continuous development of educational
information, there are many great changes in educational
content, educational methods and so on. At the same time, in
order to adapt to social development, we must attach
importance to teacher education to cultivate a good
professional quality of teachers' team, thus speeding up the
development of information technology in education. The
gradually promotion of the new curriculum reform also
made the teachers aware of the important of their own
professional development, and hope to exchange of
knowledge and skills with their counterparts. [I]Carry out
teaching and research activities to achieve the exchange and
shaing of resources, which is effective and important way in
improving professional knowledge of teachers and
promoting professional development of teachers and
improving the level of teaching. At present, a number of
reseach projects were carried out, but there are many
problems. First, time and space constrain, back and forth
waste time and effort. Teachers living in different regions, in
order to carry out teaching and research activities at the
same time and place, teachers had to arange time and
transfer courses in advance. Not only working to exhaustion
but also to fll the dropping course afer the seminar, these
disrupt the original teaching plans, affect the teachers and
student's class process. Second, time constraints and cost
expensive. Most of the teaching and research activities last
for a maximum of not more than three hours. In order to

participate in teaching and reseach, teachers had to spend a
large overhead. However, time constraints and ineffective.
Third, the interaction is poor, the lack of exchange and
cooperation. Time limited, it is difcult for teachers to flly
express their point of views in a short time. Some teachers
rushed to the scene had been exhausted listlessness or even
in dozing situation, it lacked of communication and achieved
the desired effect. In addition, lectures and class evaluation
in the teaching classroom, on the one hand affect the process
of instruction on teaching. Instructors play a disorder caused
by stress, resulting in students unable to concentrate on
lectures. On the other hand affect the couse of
lectures .Discussion process, the experts occupy the position
of master, some lectures teachers have burden and pressue,
which ca not be timely exchange of ideas and
communication.
In this context, the network video conference system
came into being, so that teaching and reseach in off-site
network became easy and convenient, it promotes the
professional development of teachers. Network Video
Conference System is original remote means of
communication which sets communication, computer
technology and microelectonics in one. It provides fll
range of perceptual space environment which including
visual, audio, text, fgue and other media for the distribution
of people with off-site. [2]
II. THE BASIS OF WEB VIDEO CONFERENCING SYSTEM
TO ACHIEVE NETWORK OF TEACHING AND RESEARCH
A. Logical Proofs
Network Video Conference System adapt to the
changing times. It implemented a pilot project teaching, and
another experiment achieved the effect of real-time network
comments. It is a new way to achieve a balanced
development of teachers, helping to narrow the gap in
teacher professional development and achieving the
coordinated development of teachers. [3] First of all, it has
real-time, breaking the space limitation. The teaching of
Speaker teachers transmit to a remote site of the lectures in
the classroom. Lectures of teachers view on teaching
through the large screen, teachers living in different
geographic locations see and hear with each other. [4]
Second, it has interactivity. Teachers living in the different
localities can feely discuss, express their views, transmit
information and share knowledge and experience. Finally, it
has sharing. It increases opportunity of obtain qualif
education. As long as the video conferencing system
connected through the network, anyone can be a real-time
lecture. Teachers can share resources of high-quality
teachers, lear fom each other and promote the coordinated
development of development of teachers, thus speed up the

III. THE CONSTRUCTION AND ANALYSIS OF TEACHING
AND RESEARCH MODEL BASED ON REMOTE INTERACTIVE
TEACHING PLATFORM
By Delight IP 5.0 remote interactive learing platform,
off-site teachers can communicate, discuss and realize the
network of teaching and research, thus promoting the joint
development of teachers in different places. Shown in Figure
1, frst of all, in model, teachers in different geographic can
overcome time and space limitations, they can exchange
extensive and simultaneously, which by Delight IP 5.0
remote interactive learing platform. Teachers teach at the
main venue, remote teaching and research activities can
simultaneously comment and communicate. They also can
asynchronous lear and share the video recording of the
entire teaching and research activities .It reduces the gap
between level of education, so that the good resources can
be shared. Secondly, the use of remote video conference
system will be separate lectures classroom fom teaching
classroom. On the one hand, without the interference factors,
it relieves of instructors' tension, teachers can be more

relaxed. At the same time, students can reduce the
psychological burden and more focus on learing, in order
to response the real teaching situation. On the other hand,
without the pressure of face to face commuication, experts
can conduct simultaneously interpretation and instant
comments more feely and objective for the process of
teaching. It promotes different culture interaction and
collision. All of these can promote the development of the
teacher profession and have enabled network of teaching
and research to be effectively carried out.

IV. THE CASE STUDY OF WEB VIDEO CONFERENCING
SYSTEM FOR THE NETWORK TEACHING AND RESEARCH
ACTIVITIES
A. The Process of Teaching and Research
In this paper, take the interactive application seminars of
high-defnition video technology between Guangdong and
Zhejiang for example, carried out the effectiveness analysis.
This meeting realized the long-distance teaching seminars
among different provinces. It helps to share and exchange
different cultures, which is a good start to carry out teaching
and research activities. The network teaching and reseach
conference has two conference venue. The main venue set
up in ZhongChun Secondary School, Guangdong Panyu
District, speaker teacher is Zheng Li-xia. The point venue
set up in audio-visual hall, in Zhejiang Province, shown in
Figure 2, Comments Specialist are Education Department of
Zhejiang Province, the teaching and research staff, Cai
Shao-jun, audio-visual museum deputy director of Zhejiang
Province, Wang Hui-jun. The institute's director of the
audio-visual hall of Zhejiang province is Tu Yuan-cheng.
The main content of teaching and research activities are
junior language open course "poetry appreciation", experts'
class evaluation and interaction between two provinces.

B. Efects Analysis
This network of teaching and research bring a new
model for sharing resources of high-quality teachers, but
also strengthened the strengths of teaching and reseach. It
has set up a communication platform for teachers and
experts in two districts. Teachers living in different places
can understand the situation of education in different regions,
levels and provinces, to improve their teaching standards
and teaching effectiveness, thus enrich their professional
basis.
Delight IP 5.0 network video conferencing system has
many fnctions, such as video transmission of high quality,
interactive actively between teachers and students, and put
students in good conditions. First, break the time and space
limitations, fexible organizations, strong interaction. The
case achieved interaction of the teaching and research
between Guangdong and Zhejiang Province. The main
venue set up in Guangdong Panyu District, the sub-venue in
Zhejiang audio-visual hall. It avoids the troubles of running
around. The Interaction among teachers has more space. In
the traditional classroom, lectures are diffcult to exchange
experience with the school teachers. But, in the network, it
can share high-quality educational resources anytime and
anywhere, which overcomes the geographical constraints,
across time and space. All of these can improve teaching
effectiveness. Second, without face to face communication
between the speaker teachers and the comments experts, it
can promote diferent culture exchanges and share high
quality resources. Non-face communication, teachers can
avoid excessive tension and students can concentrate on
their studies. In the case, the process of Zheng Lixia's class
is relaxed, natural and humorous, it mobilize the enthusiasm
of the students. Educational specialists in Zhejiang observed
the teachers lectures through the network. They feel the
atmosphere of a lively discussion on the site and comment
on the teaching process, analyze strengths and weaknesses,
helping teachers to improve teaching standard. It can
promote exchanges and collision with each other between
different cultures. So that it promote the development of
teachers professional and achieve teaching and research
activities effectively. Thirdly, the class evaluation is
openness and transparency. By Delight IP 5.0 network video

conferencing system, the experts in two provinces can face
to face communication, express their view feedom, achieve
knowledge sharing. On the one hand, the network of
teaching and research can shae good experience with other
schools, really played a prestigious role of resources sharing.
On the other hand, you can also get off-campus counterparts
appropriate advice and actually bring a wider range of
teaching exchange. Thus it attacts more attentions to
education in all sectors to participate in the discussion. So
the new curriculum reform closer to real life. Shown in
fgure 3, by Delight IP 5.0 remote interactive teaching
platform, Cai Shao-jun, Wang Hui-jun, Tu Yuan-cheng
express their insights, observe carefl, look at others or their
own teaching, and then afer school discuss. So that all

process can be re-observe and refect, in order to discovery

teachers and enhances the quality of teachers, so give

C Problems
During the process of teaching and research, there ae
some problems such as microphone suddenly silent, the
image is not clear and so on. Network technology can be
seen to be frther mature. Due to the reasons of the
bandwidth and equipment technology, Network transmission
has the situation such as sound, images and other
information decay. Compared with the traditional teaching
and research, there is defnitely a different in audio-visual
effects. Therefore, by online video platform, teacher can feel
atmosphere of classroom, but still subject to the clarity of
the voice network transmission, video picture quality.
D. Suggestions and Comments
Before carrying out off-site network of teaching and
research, ensure the usability and stability of network
platform. It carries out to using the Interet and computers,
so there is a certain level of demand for the information
technology levels of the teachers and experts that involved
in the network of teaching and research. Network platform
in the implement process, we must pay attention to certain
requirements. One is Delight IP 5.0 web video conferencing
system operating environment, another is hardware and
sofware. We must ensure that the network platform is
stability and smooth, so that teachers can the network
class evaluating teachers' initiative. First of all, test
equipment to protect real-time voice transmission, clear
picture quality, sound and picture synchronization,
essentially simultaneously real-time interaction, does not
affect the interaction between the two places. Second, the
automatic tacking of the camera system should be fexible
and available, simultaneously recording medium of
instruction screen [8].
Network video teaching and reseach is only part of the
network of teaching and research, but there are also many
ways to compensate. For example, the establishment of
large-scale teaching and research sites, he use of instant
messaging sofwae, the opening of the forums and Blog, the
establishment of teaching resources network lesson, the
sharing of teacher lesson, instructional design and classroom
teaching video. All of these forms are now available at he
present, teachers and teaching researchers achieve inter
school teaching and research network through the network
teaching and research, using the interet to promote
interschool teaching observation. Rely on the advantage of
the various schools and the backbone of the power of
teachers, the establishment of regional network of teaching
and research entity, the establishment of the same subject in
different parts of the network between teaching and research
mechanisms to promote the common development of the
school faculty.
v. CONCLUSION
took participate in the high-defnition video
conferencing in the April 14, 2009, in Guangdong Panyu
District. At that time, I am aware of the far-reaching
signifcance of the network video education and research
activities. It had a good attempt for expanding and sharing
the high-quality educational resources. It also an applied
exploration for flly developing "campus communication"
program network fnctions. At the same time, it has brought
a new model for network of teaching and research and
teacher training. Network of teaching and research has set up
a platform for exchange of teachers between the two places.
It allows teachers to lear knowledge that can not obtain
form the book. In exchange, their mutual exchange ideas,
opinion, practice, ideas and so on. Their thinking collision
with each other, spaks produced in the collision process, it
is the sparks illuminate the road ahead of them. Through the
network can promote better understanding between teaching
and research, to promote cross-learing, to play role in
promoting the development of education.
