SUMMARY OF THE FILM A. SETTING y At the town of San Jose, Nueva Ecija. Part of the film happened at the Cemetery and Church. B. C. PLOT Since Cesar is a womanizer, she met Kuala and got pregnant. But Cesar don t want to stand as a Father since he has a legal family. After aborting the baby, Kuala had a trauma and became insane. She became the clown of the town. People got curious of why she became crazy especially Junior. One night, at the burial, Kuala became the center of attention. Since Cesar was there, she saw Kuala and reminisced the days when they are happily together. Somehow conscience is bothering him. Junior was not one of the people who teased Kuala. There this another man, Bertong Ketong, he is an ugly man. No one dares to touch him because they think that his sickness will be transmitted to another. One night, he desires to go at Lover s Paradise where he can pick for a girl and pay for it. But the guard didn t permit him to enter, saying no one will like him even though he s going to pay. In his way home, he saw Kuala lying on the corner of the street. The next day, he decided to get Kuala by

hypnotizing using a baby s toy. He bathed Kuala, Bought new clothes and shoes. He let Kuala ate as much as she can. He treated Kuala as his wife. Junior and his company made a plan. They went to the cemetery, where Berto and Kuala had a little nipa hut where they are staying. The boys crept at the window and when Berto noticed that there are people outside their house, he went outside and ran after the boys. He caught Junior. He told Junior that he should keep it as a secret that Kuala is staying with him. And because of that Junior became close to Berto and Kuala. Junior usually hung out with the two although his father is against with that. Junior asked for advices because he was broken hearted because of Evangeline. One day when they were at the forest to get some woods, Kuala is missing and they found her under the shade of the tree. She was still bothered when her baby with Cesar was aborted. She remembered that, and said the name CESAR. Junior was shocked, From that time on he knew to himself that Kuala was once his father s mistress. The biggest issue in the town and talked of every people is when Kuala got pregnant. Curious and disgusted because Berto was the father of the baby. So the religious group of women made a plan that they will adopt Kuala until she gave birth and they were also planning to take the baby. Berto can t do nothing about it. Kuala while on the church was still lost on her thoughts about Berto and always longing for him. She once visited Berto at the cemetery. One night, when Kuala felt pain and was about to give birth, she remembered the pain she gone through when her first baby was aborted. She ran until she reached at Berto s house. When Berto saw Kuala, he suddenly went to the Doctor to ask help. But the doctor didn t mind him, since they knew that Kuala was on the church under the care of the Religious group. They thought that Berto was just telling lies. But Berto insisted until he saw a pointed thing and grab the doctor to come with him. But the doctor s wife asked for the neighborhood s help. She said that Berto took her husband and will him. So, the town s people woke up in the middle of the night. Junior was also alarmed and asked for his father s help but instead his father got mad. So Junior walked out and ran to Berto s house. His mother and mother ran also after him, thinking that their son is in danger. Authority went to Bert s house, and saw Berto holding a pointed thing and another hand to the doctor. When doctor was about to run to the police, the police shot Berto and suddenly Junior ran after Berto and Berto told Junior that he s not going to kill the doctor and died. The people witnessed what happened. Suddenly after the what happened they heard the baby is crying. Junior went to the house and saw Kuala already gave birth. Kuala reached the baby to Junior and saw Cesar in a distant place. She was saying the name Cesar all over again and the

people looked at Cesar. After reaching the baby, Kuala died. Junior held the bay and went outside and all the people were looking at him. II. The SECRECY y When Berto kept a secret that he was the one who s taking good care of Kuala just like when Rizal had a secret of making writings against the Spaniards.

Being Martyr y The authority shot Berto even though they don t the real reason behind. Just like Rizal, he let himself died without even defending himself about his works.

Being womanizer y III. Cesar is a womanizer just like Rizal, he had a lot of girlfriends.

Social Classes y Junior belonged to one of the affluent families in town. Just like J. Rizal s family. They were able to build a large stone house near the town church. The family income gave them adequate and comfortable life so they could lead social and religious activities in the community. Milagros went to Manila to continue her studies. Rizal and his siblings went to Manila to attend college. Berto, live in simplicity. You can see different people living in the town. Some are rich and some have none.
