COMPUTATION OF FINAL GRADE


During the semester, students will be participating in variety of classroom activities including interactive lecture, demonstrations, student teaching, laboratory exercises and exams. Students working on group projects will be assigned a grade that reflects the work of the entire group. Group project evaluations may include instructor and/or peer evaluations.

Skills Attainment by Attendance, Exercises, Exams, and Projects


Attendance (10%) all students are expected to attend classes on their respective scheduled dates. Absences should be communicated with the Instructor a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Competency Exams (20%) you will be given several objective exams to be completed ONLY in class, proctored ONLY by your instructor. All exams are delivered on-line through eCampus. Makeup exams are scheduled with each student on a case-by-case basis. Class Exercises (20%) you will be given class exercises that will integrate skills and techniques gained in through the course. Each exercise must be turned in on the date due to your instructor on the due date. Late assignments are deducted on a case-by-case basis, usually 50%. Final Project (50%) using skills acquired during the semester, create and design a story board, site outline, creative brief and project plan for your clients web site. Print and present to class and instructor. Student will also create and design web page(s) for a client. Web site design and print mock-up will be reviewed

by class and instructor for final presentation to client. Note: The Final Project requires the written approval of the client(s) in all completed products and design documentation. The written document must be submitted with your final project. The final grading scale is as follows: A= 90-100% B = 80-89% C = 70-79% D = 60-69% F = 59% or below

INCOMPLETE GRADE STATEMENT


Incomplete grades are given only in case of extreme emergency and at least 50% of the course requirements must have been completed. Request for an incomplete grade must be justified through a written statement and presented before the drop date to your instructor, who will decide if your request can be approved.

CONTINUING EDUCATION STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE ALL PROJECTS AND TESTS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A CEU AWARD

Your instructor will provide a DUE DATE when lab assignments are to be turned in for grading. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, some assignments may change. The student will be notified in lecture of any changes in assignments or due dates. In order to insure that you have the correct assignments and due dates, it is your responsibility to consult with your instructor if you are absent from lecture.

CLASSROOM RULES AND EXPECTATIONS


All students are required to practice courteous, respectful, cooperative behavior at all times, as this would be the norm in any higher education or work environment. To avoid distractions in the classroom, students will: Arrive on time and stay until class is dismissed; Be prepared and stay on task; Leave all food, drink, candy and gum outside the classroom; Listen courteously to one speaker at a time, with no interruptions and no side conversations; Generally behave as mature adults would in the workplace.

CELL PHONE/FACEBOOK

In order not to interrupt the class session, students are asked to place all cell phones and pagers on vibrate prior to entering the classroom. Access to Facebook (and other social media tools) is not to be accessed in the classroom during class time in order to reduce classroom disruption.
