FORMULA SAE ITALY 2012

HOW TO REGISTER
To the 8th edition of the Formula SAE Italy 2012, both the Internal Combustion (IC) and Electric propulsion vehicles will be admitted to attend the registration. The event will take place at the Riccardo Paletti Circuit in Varano de Melegari (PR) from September 14th to 17th, 2012. 1. RESERVED REGISTRATION SLOTS The first 3 Class 1 and first 2 Class 3 classified Teams at the Formula SAE Italy 2011 event will have a granted registration slot in the 2012 event: Class 1 Rennteam Uni Stuttgart - University of Stuttgart (Germany) KA-RaceIng - Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany) HAWKS Racing - UAS Hamburg (Germany)

Class 3 - CENTAURUS - University of Thessaly (Greece) - Scuderia Tor Vergata - Universit di Tor Vergata (Italy) The pre-registration will open on January 11th, 2012 at 10.00 AM CET (GMT + 1) and will close on January 12 th, 2012 at 2.00 PM CET (GMT + 1). After that date these teams will lose the priority. The registrations will be confirmed only when the due amount is credited on the ATA bank account. Please refer to payment details for further information. 2. PROCEDURES To the 2012 event will be admitted 70 teams in Class 1 and 5 teams in Class 3 as follows: Class 1C - IC Engine Class 1E - Electric Propulsion System Class 3 both IC and Electric 50 20 5

Second year vehicles are not allowed. The Class 3 will be open to the Design Review Project with no running cars.

The registration will open on January 18th, 2012 at 10 AM CET (GMT +1). The electronic form will be available in the ATA website at the following link only at the opening date at the countdown end. http://www.ata.it/it/formulaata/view/18/formula-sae-italy-2012/ Registration for Formula SAE Italy 2012 is limited to one team per university regardless of the powertrain type. Registrations will be accepted in the order they will be received and the list of registered teams will be on line right after your forwarding. 3. REGISTRATION FEES Class 1C & 1E: 1300,00 + 21% VAT = 1573,00 Class 3: 900,00 + 21% VAT = 1089,00 The registration fee includes 25 team members. Every further member can be registered for 28,00 + 21% VAT = 33,80 within June 27th, 2012. PAYMENT DETAILS Teams will have 48 hours, starting from registration time, to send us the proof of the bank transfer, certifying the payment date and time, is shown. Registrations to the FSAE Italy 2012 will be confirmed only when the due amount is credited on the ATA bank account. Payments methods: - Credit Card on line by PayPal When paying the entry fee by credit card, please take note that it has to be made at the same time of registration process. Please be sure to indicate on the bank transfer that the payment is for FSAE Italy 2012, code 201

5. INVOICE It is compulsory to fill in all the fields of the registration form. Particularly, in the field of VAT number please check to have a correct VAT NUMBER. Please do not insert any other data: i.e. tax identification number. If you do not have got one, please write Not in possession in the field. The Codice fiscale field is only for Italy. 6. MEMBERSHIP Italian teams must be ATA members, other teams must be members of one of the following Societies: ATA, SAE International, SAE Australasia, SAE Brazil, IMechE, VDI. In case of teams coming from nations which dont have FISITA referent Association they can choose to subscribe either to ATA or SAE. In case the Faculty Advisor will not be able to attend, the Formula ATA Organizing Committee will accept only a University staff representative. 8. FURTHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS Once a team have been registered for the competition, it will have to submit within April 18th, 2012 the following documents: - Preliminary List of Team Members http://www.ata.it/upload/submenu_fata_/196/it/fsaei_preliminary_list.xls - Proof of membership, such as membership card or Society membership number. Faculty Advisor and/or Team Leader will be the only mail referents allowed to send ATA all documents related to the event. No other referent will be considered. 9. WITHDRAWALS Registered teams that find that they will not be able to attend the competition are requested to officially withdraw by notifying the following by e-mail to formula.sae@ata.it not later than August 27th, 2012. 10. CAR NUMBER When choosing your car number, please take note that it could be already taken. The acceptance order will follow the registered team list published in the ATA web site. In that case, you will receive an e-mail message asking for a new choice.

11. FUEL SUPPLY Only unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 98 RON and E85 will be available at the competition. No other fuel will be supplied. Fuel choice must be communicated during the registration process by clicking on the dedicated flag in the electronics form. 12. CAMPING A camping site will be available for the event, from Sept. 13th at 9.00 AM to Sept. 18th, 2012 at 2.00 PM. It is located next to the circuit in Varano (Via Guglielmo Marconi nearby the football ground). Interested teams must send ATA (formula.sae@ata.it) the camping booking form within March 7th, 2012 http://www.ata.it/upload/submenu_fata_/197/it/fsaei_camping_booking_form.xls Camping requests will be accepted in the order they will be received. The camping availability will be communicated to teams within April 12th, 2012. The fee for 6 days is Euro 60,00/person VAT included. Within June 13th, 2012 teams must send the evidence of payment, together with the list of members and their passport/IC numbers. We will accept only single payment for each team. The payment can be made by: bank transfer to A.T.A. srl c/o Banca Popolare di Novara, Sportello 093 Beinasco (TO) - Italy Account No. 20407- IBAN: IT82 G 05608 30090 000000020407 SWIFT code: NVRBIT-2N (Please write the Team Name and the ref. code 201 on the bank document). A penalty of 50 % on the overall amount will be applied in case of team withdrawal. 13. APPLYING FOR VISA If you need a Visa, please send to formula.sae@ata.it the list of team members with their passports numbers, the arrival and departure dates within May 30th, 2012. An invitation letter will be issued for the team. LATE REQUESTS WILL BE NOT CONSIDERED. 14. WAITING LIST There will be no waiting list. After having reached the number of admitted teams, no more teams will be allowed to register for the event even though some teams will withdraw their participation.
