Marketing Coordinator; Promoted to Marketing Manager after 1 year

Assisted senior leadership team in the development of the overall Health System Strategic Marketing Plan. Responsible for final compilation of plan and implementation of advertising component. Assisted Marketing Director in annual budget planning and served as manager of the budget conducting marketing plans within budget expectations. In cooperation with over 20 department directors, 7 senior leadership team members, our corporate Marketing Director and ad agency personnel, managed the development and implementation of all service line advertising, both internal and external for the entire health system, which includes a 209 bed licensed hospital and a 35+ member physician group. Introduced the hospice benefit to patients and their families, guiding them through the election process. Managed staff of four nurses, nine nursing assistants, one administrative specialist and six volunteers. Also, assisted in coordinating responsibilities of staff Social Worker and Chaplain. Served as a liaison and implemented quality control measures to maintain positive patient, family and various health care provider relations. Managed and maintained local marketing budget. Made marketing calls to local healthcare providers, civic and church groups educating them on the hospice benefit. Doubled local patient census within first year of employment. Memorials to Hospice Care Palliative Foundation realized a 10% increase during my second year of leadership. Conducted all aspects of annual Hospice Memorial Service, which averaged 75-150 in attendance each year. During my first year of employment, located new office space, managed and organized office move maintaining little to no interruptions in operations. Served on managerial team of 13 directors representing various functions within a continuing care retirement community of over 120 residents. We were charged with the overall successful operation of the community. Planned and implemented strategic marketing initiatives designed to increase resident inquiries. Initiatives included: 1) building rewarding relationships with potential industry referral sources, including healthcare, real estate, insurance, banking and other related business professionals, 2) planning, implementation and participation of both internal and external community events, 3) development and implementation of advertising and promotion campaigns including newspaper ads, weekly fax bombs and various direct mail campaigns, 4) holding membership on key community service and professional organizations, and 5) maintaining and developing new collateral materials. First year results included 64% of inquiries received and or sold being initiated by developed referral sources. Successfully introduced prospective residents and their families to the Skylyn community. In highly competitive market generated first year revenue potential of $229,500. In cooperation with Skylyn team members, consistently maintained a 93% or higher occupancy rate in assisted living community. Successfully managed and maintained marketing budget. Served on team of six directors representing various operational areas charged with the successful opening of a new senior assisted living community. In cooperation with corporate, regional and local management, developed rental rates for prospective residents. Developed successful relationships with key referral sources resulting in new resident inquiries. Successfully overcame negative association of prior bankrupt assisted living company previously occupying same location.
