Final Major Project

An image driven investigation into custom typography and applied illustration with a focus on media, process and context.


THEMES / SUBJECTS What Themes/Subjects will form the basis of your work for the final major project? This should include Theoretical and non design based content and concerns.
GENERAL THEMES: Homeware, cookware, food and drink, dining, restaurants, cafes, animals, ancient proverbs, visual poetry, foreign language, greetings cards, gifting, illustration for editorial and publishing, processes, finishing, crafting, hand rendered design (both type and image).

SPECIFIC SUBJECTS: Cookware range, restaurant identity, gin, sausage dogs, greetings cards/gifting, screen printing, woodblock printing, foiling, flocking, magazine covers, book illustrations, book covers, geishas.

DESIGN CONTEXT Identify areas of professional/ creative practices that will inform the contextualization of the work that you produce. This should include specific designers, studios, practitioners and products as well as broader creative disciplines and methods of Production / Distribution.

Indentity for the Company Shed Range of illustration driven elements for the Essex fish restaurant. Gin brand create a new fictional gin. Greetings cards/gifting create a range of greetings cards based around illustrated typography. Cookware range based around applied illustration Back to basics design based around old design practice methods (i.e. before adobe suite software) with a focus on hand rendered type. Personifying typefaces give typefaces personalities illustration Childrens books choose some vintage favourites and re-illustrate/re-design them. Sausage dogs illustration project needs focus. Magazine covers? Book covers. V&A because I love it, what though? Editorial type ?
