• Investigate animals with backbones or no backbones (vertebrates,
invertebrates).
• Sort animals with backbones into broad groups according (mammals,
amphibians, reptiles, birds, and fish).

(10 minutes) catch pupils’ attention in know their pet’s behaviours. A video on animal’s
kingdom will be showed to them to get ideas on different groups of animals.

Exploration:
2. Lesson • Differentiate groups of animals (Mammals, amphibians, birds, reptiles,
Development 1 and fish).
(20 minutes) • Animals are placed into groups because they have particular features.
For E.g:
✔ Birds have feathers, beaks, wings.
✔ Fish has scales on the body and live in water.
3. Practise ✔ Mammals give birth, look after their babies and feed them.
(15 minutes)
Lesson Development 1:

teacher in order for them to develop their communication skills.

2. During the presentation, teacher will highlight new words for the pupils to
memorize.
Refer to the slideshows.

Practise: Pupils will be asked to play educational games by using the computers.
Teacher will be also offered guidance if they have any difficulties.

Exercise 1 (interactive and stimulated activity online): The pupils have to drag
the pictures shown to where the animals grouped. For examples:

• Penguin Birds
• Squirrel Mammals

Exercise 2 (paper work): Pupils will be asked to answer student’s worksheet

prepared by the teacher. Refer to attached document.

Summary: The exercise will test the pupil’s understanding and develop their
critical thinking on differentiate between vertebrates and invertebrates; groups of
vertebrates; differences between each groups.

The Closure Application: Pupils will be motivated to explain and try to share their ideas.
(10 minutes)
Assessment: Pupils will be given student’s worksheet (homework) which they

delaying.
Target:
• Pupils will be able to contribute their ideas and understanding by
answering 85% correctly.
• Pupils will be motivated on learning participation by expressing their
own idea clearly and effectively in a variety of oral contexts.

The Preview: Depends on their result on student assessment. Further explanation

on the same topic if the target result is not achieved. Next lesson on
invertebrates’ animals will be taught if the target result is achieved successfully.
Follow up activity:

➢ Visit the local environment, museum, zoo to find and identify animals and plants.
➢ Make drawings of the animals and note where they were found.
➢ Use pictures and photographs to support identification.
➢ Make a poster of members of, for example, the cat family. Note common
characteristics.
