Masterbrand was expanding operatio ns with the purchase of an existing 550,000 square-foot plant. Transformed facil ity from ground-up, partnering with civil and central engineering teams to insta ll and test equipment. Opened plant on time and under budget. Grew production 350%. Following expansion, Masterbrand needed to ramp up cabinet manufacturing. Analyzed needs, developed plan and executed. Added 500 people ov er 2 shifts, and $10M in equipment, process improvements and facility additions. Outsourced select maintenance needs. Lowered cost per unit, improving complete and on-time delivery. Built daily production from 1500 to 5,200. Received Presid ent's Leadership Award. Initiated energy controls. Masterbrand assembly plant power expenses were rising dramatically with increased operations. Installed T5 lighting correction contro l equipment, reducing KWh consumption by 45% and saving over $100K in first year and subsequent years. Launched new recycling plant. Hired to oversee the design and opening of a tire recycling plant for Tires, Inc. Installed all equipment, completing multi-millio n dollar project on time and within budget. Educated managers on LEAN 5S and TPM practices, employing new standards in all departments.
