EMPLOYMENT 9/2010-Present MidState Medical Center 61 Pomeroy Ave Meriden, CT 06451 203-693-5390 LPN MediQuick and Wound Care I am currently working perdiem at both clinics. Mediquick is a step down from th e ER. Responsibilities include: Triage, patient histories, vitals, assisting the doctors and PA's with procedures, applying splints, EKG's, injections, suture r emoval, teaching instructions from doctor's orders, and discharging patients. Wound Care- Responsibilities include: vitals, removal of dressings, cleaning aff ected area, assessment of wound or wounds, measurements, patients teaching of pr oper nutrition and assessing the proper healing needs of the patient example: If VNA is needed, taking arterial Doppler, assisting doctor and RN with procedures , applying wound vacs, dressing the wound, and discharging patients. I take care of the daily needs of the patient and convey any problems and discom forts during patient treatment to my supervisory nurses and doctors. As a result , I am in daily communication with the patients and their patient care. A few of the more common duties assigned to an LPN are as follows: Vital Signs- LPNs are assigned the task of monitoring daily variations in the vi tal signs of the patients. Daily monitoring of the patients vital signs helps th e doctors to diagnose their health and recovery from major surgical procedures o r sicknesses. Preparation- Patients who are admitted in a hospital have to undergo routine tes ts to check for health and vitality of organs. Prepping the patients by informin g them about the procedure, dressing them, conveying them to appointment or hosp ital departments and pre-medicating them before required appointments are all ta sks carried out. Medication Charts- Almost every patient in a hospital environment is on a medica tion protocol. I am assigned the task of monitoring medication, dosages and ensu ring that patients take their dosages on time for effective patient care. First Aid- Most emergency rooms are a mess of high tension and injured patients. Doctors can deal with the severely injured we are assigned the tasks of dealing the simple wounds and injuries to save time for the doctors. ons, applying dressings, splints, and bandages. Changing the dressings and assis ting in the suture placements to the injured patient. IV Maintenance- I do have to keep a careful eye on those patients who are on an IV drip. Patients who are being administered blood, medications, glucose etc hav e to be monitored, levels of IV solutions periodically noted and IV's changed wh en required .Change catheters, nasal-gastric tubes, epidural infusions, perform tracheotomy care, fluid bags, and oxygen supplies. Patient Hygiene- patients are bathed, bedding changed, dressed and toileted ever y day. Daily Massages- Bedridden patients or patients in week long dressings are provid ed therapeutic massages. Physician Orders- Sometimes doctors leave special instructions that have to be c arried out for sick patients. I do follow the physician during his rounds, compr ehend detailed instructions and carry them out to the letter. Feeding incapacitated patients and ensuring that they have a constant supply of water and nutrition. Emotional Support- A very important aspect of patient care is dealing with depre ssed patients who are in severe pain. Providing emotional support to stressed pa tients is a very important. The work is hard and requires a lot of mental and physical strength but ultimate ly the entire process of caring for a sick person and nursing them back to healt h makes it worthwhile!

Teen Action Advisor Cheshire Parks and Recreation Sandy Patel - Director I was the youth teen action advisor for the middle school children. I would orga nize and hire all needed personnel for the activities that were to be organized and carried out. I would hire the police officers, the bands, chaperones, and ru n the entire event from selling the tickets to clean up after the event.
