As a comprehensive approach to the study of

conict analysis and resolution, the ADR con-


centration recognizes the potentially destruc-
tive nature of conict and how to resolve it.
Alternative dispute resolution uses mediation,
negotiation, and facilitation methods to re-
solve conicts between individuals, organiza-
tions, small groups, and nations. Classes are
led by professional practitioners who work
in the elds they teach and offer a unique
and comprehensive approach to the study of
conict analysis and resolution. The program
teaches students how to apply conict theo-
ries for understanding and analyzing conict
situations, as well as developing contextually
appropriate conict management options.
