Homework: Homework will be assigned each class period. All assignments will be due Thursday. No late homework will be accepted. I will also give class quizzes along the way to help prepare you for the exams. These quizzes will be factored into your homework scores as well as those problems you turn in to me. All homework will be completed neatly on a green engineers pad or I will not grade it. Calculator policy, I strongly encourage you to have a calculator with a CAS program. ie: TI-89 You may be free to use it on tests, however you must show me all your work when completing a problem or you will receive no credit for it. Hours of Operation. We only meet 16 times over the quarter, and we have 18 sections to cover. Add to this; exams, quizzes and classroom time devoted to answering questions, and we are going to be racing through the material. To avoid this and to better prepare you, our class may run a little longer than scheduled on some days. Office Hours Mon. & Wed. 3:00pm 3:50pm Tuesday& Thursday 4:00 4:50 pm

Study Habits: Believe me when I tell you that study groups are important for this class, Mat 215 is not like any other course you have taken. This course is traditionally a stumbling block for most. You must read the text, and it is strongly suggested that you work in groups. Moreover, I have lots of office hours and I am in my office most other hours of the day as well. I have desks for you to study at, and will always answer your questions. So feel free to drop by to study. Lastly, many students fail Math 215 because they are not adequately prepared in 214. If you struggled in Math 214 you have your work cut out for you, do not fall behind! Pedagogical Profile: I hope to incorporate ideas and exercises form both traditional and reform movements in the calculus. To this end we shall be doing in class group work as well as discussion groups. I hope to have an interesting project for you to work on sometime around the 5th week. For many, this is your next to last mathematics class so let us have some fun doing it. Lastly: I expect you to participate actively in the classroom, and stay current on your homework and reading assignments. Blackboard
