Keynote Speakers
Most Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D.
His Holiness Benedict XVI appointed Most Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D., as the Bishop of the Archdiocese of Louisville on June 12, 2007 and installed on August 15, 2007. Before coming to Louisville, Archbishop Kurtz served as Bishop of Knoxville from 1999 to 2007. Born on August 18, 1946 in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz earned a bachelor (1968) and master of divinity (1972) degrees from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia and a masters degree in social work from Maryland School of Social Work in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in 1976.
Our Purpose
In conversing with men across the Archdiocese, it became apparent that men are looking for ways to: Be more deeply involved in their faith and their parish communities. Engage more fully in service, evangelization, and networking with others. Deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Share their faith with other men. Seeking such questions as: What should Catholic men do and be in todays world? How can men strengthen their family life, work life, and faith life? How can they become better fathers, husbands and leaders? Therefore, it is our hope, that this Catholic Mens Conference, Learning & Living Our Faith will provide an opportunity to respond to these important needs and questions.
