Disability Awareness A friend tearfully shared how an usher asked her to leave a church service because of her squirmy toddler. But the boy wasnt just having a bad morning; he was born with a genetic disorder called Fragile X, which makes it nearly impossible to sit quietly. It was nearly a year before that mother attended a church again. Then she found one with a shepherd program, where trained volunteers help children with special needs participate in worship, Sunday school and church activities. As we look for ways to reach out to people with disabilities, remember that Gods love has no limits. How can we, as Gods church, reflect that love? [The NEWSLETTER Newsletter]

The Week at a Glance

It has been determined that the Monday in the last full week of January is the most depressing day of the year. This year, Blue Monday fell on January 23. This date is based on a combination of bad weather, Christmas debts, broken New Years resolutions and the end of the holiday break. But no matter how bleak things seem, regardless of the time of year, Christians always have reason for hope. Thankfully, we can look beyond our earthly circumstances to the promise of new life with God forever. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.

Teaching Giving According to a survey conducted by a company called Christian Research, Christians who were taught the importance of giving gave 26% more to their local church than people who hadnt received such teaching. They also gave nine times more to charity than the average householder did. Bill Gates, one of the worlds wealthiest men, learned to give from his parents. They taught him by their example of being generous to church and community needs. Now that

Dont Miss Your Chance to Bless and Be Blessed...The Needs are Many
Bill and his wife, Melinda, have traveled the world learning of the hurts, sickness and poverty of fellow humans, they work steadfastly to provide aid and hope. By their examples, other people are learning the importance of giving. But you dont have to be a billionaire to give generously and cheerfully. What are some ways you can give and, in doing so, teach others about giving?

Jonah, the first save the whales advocate.

The Bible mentions mountains numerous times. Three mountains are listed in the first column below. In the second column are the names of three people, each of whom was on a mountain. Draw a line from the mountain to the man associated with it. 1. Mount Sinai A. Elijah 2. Horeb B. Jesus 3. Mount of Olives C. Moses The correct answers are found in Luke 22:39; Exodus 19:20; and 1 Kings 19:8.

Was That A Compliment? After a worship service, a pastor was greeting people at the front door. A woman shook his hand vigorously and said, That was a very helpful sermon. You know, you ought to have your sermons put in a book. Thank you! answered the pastor. Maybe my wife will have some of them published after Im dead. Well, responded the elderly saint, the sooner the better. Pray for Missionaries: The Knight Family (Japan) www.theknights.multiply.com
