Instructional Program Reflection Data Tables and Graph Scanned into PDF Attachment (IPdataandgraph). Results Section -Describe data trends in the baseline phase In the baseline phase, there were no changes in the mouse usage because V has never had experience using it before. She did not know how to use the mouse at all, but she did understand that it caused some change on the computer screen. She learned this quickly during the informal assessment time, but she could not click the mouse to forward the game without verbal and physical assistance. -Describe data trends during instructional phases of the program During the instructional phase, V learned that clicking the mouse was the sole task that would allow her to forward the game. She rarely was able to do this independently, however. Only two times was she able to complete the task by herself during probe trials. -Describe any data trends under instructional conditions During the instructional time, V was able to independently select the correct option about just as many times as during the probe trials. There were three instances when she was able to click the correct selection after given a verbal prompt. These three instances occurred over twenty-four separate trials which each consisted of eight or more opportunities to click the mouse. Discussion Section -Make a statement regarding the overall effectiveness of the program This program was not effective because the data shows that V was able to learn what to do independently only a few times. However, I would have to say that that is still progress considering she had never used a computer mouse prior to instruction. Of course, more time instructing or perhaps a different method would benefit Vs progress, too. -Discuss any revisions (if any) were made to the original proposal and describe their effect on the student(s) performance At first, I thought that a time delay instructional method would best teach V, but then it came to my attention that most to least intrusive prompting would be a more effective method. This way, V could feel what it is like to click the mouse with the

physical guidance, and she could also understand what she was doing by hearing the verbal prompts. Also through this method, V learned to place her hand on the mouse and move it to the place to click. She just had some trouble performing the actual clicking task independently. -Describe the program components and environmental variables that seemed to contribute to the success of the program Using both the physical and the verbal prompts was helpful because V could hear what she was supposed to be doing, as well as physically feel what it was like to click the mouse. The game allowed for V to focus on the task too. She really likes to play the game, so she was motivated to stay focused and keep playing. Also, Vs positioning in the room allowed for her to remain undistracted by the other students, aides, and the teacher in the classroom. -Describe the program components and environmental variable that seemed to limit student progress Upon reflecting on the program, I have realized that there is potential that V knew that no matter what, I was going to click on the necessary button to forward the game for her. This may have caused her to ignore my verbal prompts and just listen to the game as well as perform its activities with my assistance. By knowing this, she did not learn what to do for clicking the mouse, but instead, she may have learned that I must have my hand over hers so that she can continue through the games activities. -Referring back to the above components and variables that may have limited the success of the program, describe the changes and strategies you might use to address those limitations and promote future success of the program Although using a most to least intrusive prompting method was tried, it may have been more beneficial to try a least to most intrusive method. This way V would have to grow accustomed to clicking the mouse by herself. She would have had more errors this way, but they could help her learn to independently click more quickly. Also, more time practicing this skill would of course be much more beneficial to V.
